Nashville's official New Year's Eve party features a free block party and concert on Broadway between 1st and 5th Avenue. At midnight a 15-foot-tall Music Note will drop from a 125-foot structure, followed by a great fireworks show and confetti cannons. Lady Antebellum will headline the concert. Additional performances by Gavin DeGraw, The Apache Relay, Kristen Capolino and DJ DU. The performances by Lady Antebellum and Gavin DeGraw will be featured on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2015." Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne on ABC's "Nashville") will host the segments. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include 1st Avenue (Korean Veterans Boulevard to Union); Broadway (1st Avenue to 8th Avenue); 2nd Avenue (Demonbreun to Church); Church (1st Avenue North to 2nd Avenue North); Commerce (2nd Avenue North to 3rd Avenue North); Bank (1st Avenue North to 2nd Avenue North); 3rd Avenue (Demonbreun to Commerce); 4th Avenue (Demonbreun to Commerce); 5th Avenue (Demonbreun to Commerce); 6th Avenue (Demonbreun to Broadway); 7th Avenue (Demonbreun to Commerce); Demonbreun (1st Avenue South to 2nd Avenue South); Molloy (1st Avenue South to 2nd Avenue South); Gay Street Connector; Victory (Titans Way to South 2nd Street); Titans Way (Victory to Russell); Russell (South 1st Street to Titans Way) and South 1st Street (Victory to South 2nd Street). Father Ryan vs. Pearl-Cohn: 50th Anniversary Game

Father Ryan High School will face Pearl-Cohn High School on Monday, January 5 to commemorate the first match between Father Ryan and Pearl High School in 1965. Referred to as "the game that changed the South," the contest between the two schools in 1965 was the first-ever sporting event in the South between an integrated team and an all African-American team. Pre-game events will begin at 5 pm, the girls' game at 6 pm and the boys' game at 7:30 pm. Plus, the Nashville Public Library will have a special exhibit on view highlighting moments from the iconic event from 3:30 pm - 5 pm.
