Road Closures: 2015 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament: Fanfare

 

THURSDAY, MARCH 12 - SATURDAY, MARCH 14, THURSDAY AND FRIDAY: 10 AM - 7 PM; SATURDAY: 10 AM - 5 PM
LOCATION: 5TH & DEMONBREUN FREE

The 2015 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament is at Bridgestone Arena through Sunday, March 15! SEC Fanfare is a three-day festival that features live music from 11 am - 4 pm daily. Plus, interactive games, displays, interviews with this year's SEC Legends, food and drinks, and more! Free and open to the public, this event will take place on 5th Avenue South and Demonbreun - in front of the Country Music Hall of Fame and Musuem. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Demonbreun (4th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South) and 5th Avenue South (Korean Veterans Boulevard to Broadway) will be closed beginning Monday, March 9 until Sunday, March 15 at 5 pm.

Art After Dark

LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS GALLERY ADMISSION REQUIRED

Join an open-ended discussion to heighten your appreciation and understanding of the visual arts by exploring one work of art in depth with an educator in the galleries. St. Patrick's Day Kegs and Eggs 5K/10K

 

SATURDAY, MARCH 14, REGISTRATION: 10 AM; RACE BEGINS: 11 AM
LOCATION: PARTY FOWL $40 IN ADVANCE; $45 RACE DAY

The fourth annual St. Patrick's Day Kegs and Eggs run/walk features both a 5K and 10K course option. Dress up in your best costume as you make your way along the festive course. Plus, enjoy a post-race celebration at Party Fowl including food, drinks, music and more. Please note: road closures associated with this event. 9th Avenue South (Party Fowl to Division Street) will be closed from 8 am until 2 pm on Saturday, March 14. Plus, Division Street (9th Avenue South to 12th Avenue South) will be closed from 11 am until 12:30 pm. The remaining closures do not impact downtown. St. Pat's Bar Crawl

 

SATURDAY, MARCH 14, NOON - 6 PM

The second annual St. Pat's Bar Crawl will begin at Dick's Last Resort and continues to Bootleggers Inn, Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie BarBuffalo's NashvilleCoyote Ugly Saloon, Silver Dollar SaloonDoc Holliday's SaloonTin Roof Broadway and Whiskey Bent Saloon. Tickets include admission to each bar, gift cards, drink specials, a St. Pat's medallion and more! A portion of proceeds will benefit a local charity.

 

Community Update Meeting: First Tennessee Park

 

MONDAY, MARCH 16, 5 PM - 6 PM
LOCATION: HOWARD OFFICE BUILDING FREE

The Ballpark Project Team and the Nashville Sounds invite you to an informational community update meeting about First Tennessee Park. This meeting is a follow-up to the community meetings held during the planning process and beginning of construction for Nashville's new minor league ballpark. The project team will provide an update on the traffic and parking plan in preparation for Friday, April 17, opening day. Written questions and comments will be accepted at the conclusion of the meeting. Free parking will be available at the Fulton campus.

I am Woman: Benefit for Debbie Ballentine

A benefit concert to honor long-time music industry veteran Debbie Ballentine will be held at Wildhorse Saloon on Tuesday, March 17. Performers include Lorrie Morgan, Vince Gill, Tracy Lawrence, Exile, Daryle Singletary, Baillie & the Boys, Darryl Worley, TG Shepard, George Ducas, Kelly Lang, Sonia Leigh, Steffen Hughes and more. Hosted by television personality and host of Great American Country's "Top 20 Country Countdown" Nan Kelley. Plus, an after-party will be held at Silver Dollar Saloon for $5.

 

St. Patrick's Day Street Party

Celebrate St. Patrick's Day with The Pub Nashville's Street Party! The event includes live entertainment by Jonathan Singleton, Goodbye June, Travis Denning, Shane Piasecki and The Abe Mac Band. Plus, food and drink specials throughout the day. Proceeds benefit March of Dimes. Please note: road closures associated with this event! 11th Avenue will be closed from 12th Avenue to Pine Street beginning at noon on Tuesday, March 17. The road will reopen at 2:00 am on Wednesday, March 18.

 

CSA Fair

 

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 6 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

If you've made a resolution to eat more "real" food or want to help support local agriculture, make a date to come meet the farmers in person at the CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Fair on Wednesday, March 18 from 6 pm - 8 pm. The free event will kick off with a quick presentation about how CSAs work, followed by the opportunity for attendees to meet individually with the local farmers. Each farm will have a display booth with pictures of their farms, lists of typical products by season and the location of local pickup points for various days of the week.
