Events This Week
Christ Church Cathedral celebrates the genius and mastery of Johann Sebastian Bach at the ninth annual BACHanalia, a six-hour marathon music festival. Music begins at 5 pm and continues non-stop until 11 pm. Studio musicians, Nashville Symphony musicians, church musicians, university faculty and students will perform works by Bach in traditional and innovative ways. Drop by this free event for a few minutes or a few hours.
Nine-time Grammy Award-winning band Asleep at the Wheel will perform live in the CMA Theater on Friday, March 27. Now in their 41st year, the band recently released "Still the King: Celebrating the Music of Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys" and continues to introduce the Western swing genre to new generations. Plus, Elizabeth Cook will open the show.
Visit the Tennessee State Museum for a screening of Nashville Public Television's original production "Reconstruction: A Moment in the Sun" on Saturday, March 28 at 2 pm. The film features moving reenactments and interviews with acclaimed historians. Tours of the museum's Civil War exhibits take place after the tour.
Legendary karaoke bar Lonnie's Western Room is leaving its Printer's Alley location. Help give the original Lonnie's location a proper goodbye at "The Last Party." They are relocating to a new space around the corner at 308 Church Street that is scheduled to open Friday, April 3.
Join the 20th annual HRC Nashville Equality Dinner, a fundraising event to benefit the Human Rights Campaign.
