Attention: 4th of July Road Closures!
Several road closures are planned throughout downtown for the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration and the Music City July 4th 5K/10K. Some closures began as early as Friday, June 26. All roads will re-open no later than 5 pm on Monday, July 6. Click here for the Let Freedom Sing! A Prelude to the 4th

 

FRIDAY, JULY 3, 4 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: THE DISTRICT FREE

The Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration is expanding this year and getting the party started a day early with live music on the main stage on Friday, July 3. The free concert at the corner of 1st Avenue and Broadway will feature The Weeks, Gabe Dixon, Elise Davis and DJ DU. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Click here for the complete list of closures associated with A Prelude to the 4th and the Let Freedom Sing! Acme's First Birthday Bash

 

FRIDAY, JULY 3, 5 PM - 2 AM
LOCATION: ACME FEED & SEED 1ST & 2ND FLOOR FREE; 3RD FLOOR $5

Help Acme Feed & Seed celebrate its first birthday with great music, a photo booth, drink specials, confetti cannons and tons of surprises. The first floor will feature live music by Alicia Michilli, The Howlin’ Brothers, Alanna Royale and LazerSnake. There will be a $5 cover charge to the DJ DU dance party on the third floor. 21+ event after 7 pm.

 

U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team vs. Guatemala

 

FRIDAY, JULY 3, 5:30 PM
LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM (FORMERLY LP FIELD) $25 - $250

Nissan Stadium will host the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team vs. Guatemala on Friday, July 3. The match will serve as the final tune-up for the U.S. team before the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup with an opening round match against Honduras on Tuesday, July 7 in Frisco, Texas. The game will broadcast live on FOX Sports 1, UniMás and the Univision Deportes Network.

 

First Saturday Art Crawl

 

FRIDAY, JULY 3, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: 5TH AVENUE OF THE ARTS FREE

This event is typically held on the first Saturday of each month, but it will be held on Friday, July 3 this month due to Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration.
 

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Live music on the performance platform along 5th Avenue by The Storm Kings. Plus, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and Puckett's Trolley will be on-site. Two free shuttles will circulate the route from 6 pm - 10 pm. Please note: road closure associated with this event. The southbound lane on 5th Avenue North (Church Street to Union Street) will be closed beginning as early as 5 pm and ending as late as 9 pm on Friday, July 3. Participating galleries in this month's crawl include:

Please note: this event was canceled due to weather prediction. The Fifth Third Center and Starbucks present Songwriters Singing for Coffee, an outdoor concert on the plaza during the First Saturday Art Crawl (this month held on Friday, July 3). Featured artists include Julie Roberts, Ella Mae Bowen, Bobby Tomberlin, Brian White, Pete Sallis and Greg Friia.


Art Crawl After Party

Following the First Saturday Art Crawl (this month held on Friday, July 3), Printers Alley will transform into its own gallery—complete with local artwork exhibits plus a live paint show inside Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar (cover charge at Bourbon Street is $10).

 

Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture

LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $34 - $79

Beat the heat and celebrate the Independence Day holiday with the Nashville Symphony at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. It’s an evening of all-American classics, along with some of your favorite patriotic tunes. They'll go out with a bang—literally—when the orchestra performs Tchaikovsky’s explosive "1812 Overture."

 

Music City July 4th 5K/10K

 

SATURDAY, JULY 4, RACE STARTS: 8 AM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE $40 IN ADVANCE; $45 RACE DAY

Kick off your Music City July 4th celebration with a 5K or 10K through downtown. All ages and fitness levels will love running past Nashville landmarks and across the Cumberland River. Every participant will receive a complimentary t-shirt and a finisher’s medal. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Union Street (1st Avenue North to 3rd Avenue North) will be closed from 5 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, July 4. Plus, Union Street (3rd Avenue North to 7th Avenue North), Capitol Boulevard (Union Street to Church Street), Church Street (Capitol Boulevard to 7th Avenue North), 7th Avenue (Church Street to Broadway), Broadway (7th Avenue to 6th Avenue), 6th Avenue (Broadway to Korean Veterans Boulevard), Korean Veterans Boulevard (6th Avenue South traveling across the Cumberland River), surrounding Nissan Stadium (formerly LP Field) streets and 2nd Avenue North (Woodland Street to Union Street) will be closed from 8 am until as late as 9:30 am. Acme's 4th of July

Join Acme Feed & Seed for festivities and one of the best views of the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration. VIP tickets include a dinner buffet, rooftop survival kit, all-day rooftop access and an up-close view of the fireworks show. General admission tickets will be sold on the day of the event at the door only.


Regions Free Day for Military Families at the Frist

 

SATURDAY, JULY 4, 10 AM - 5:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

Active military, veterans and their immediate families can enjoy free admission to the Frist Center all day on Saturday, July 4 courtesy of Regions Bank. Explore exhibits including "Italian Style: Fashion Since 1945," "Jaume Plensa: The Human Landscape" and "Postcards of the Wiener Werkstatte: Selections from the Leonard A. Lauder Collection."

 

July 4th Fireworks Bash

 

SATURDAY, JULY 4, 11 AM - 2 AM
LOCATION: GEORGE JONES MUSEUM $200 - $250

The George Jones Museum will host a 4th of July bash at its rooftop restaurant and bar. The ticket covers an all-day, come-and-go experience with buffet meals and an exclusive spot to catch the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration fireworks show and live concert. Plus, a cash bar will be available.

 

Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration

 

SATURDAY, JULY 4, GATES OPEN AT NOON; FIREWORKS SHOW AT 9:55 PM
LOCATION: THE DISTRICT FREE

This year's Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration will feature the largest fireworks display in the country. The main concert will be staged at the corner of 1st Avenue and Broadway. Festivities are expanding this year with A Prelude to the 4th on Friday, July 3 featuring live music by The Weeks, Gabe Dixon, Elise Davis and DJ DU. The July 4 events begin at noon with the free Family Fun Zone along with event vendors and live pre-show music until 5 pm at Bridgestone Arena Plaza. The main stage concert at 1st Avenue and Broadway begins at 6:45 pm featuring performances by Martina McBride, Mikky Ekko, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and more. The celebration concludes at approximately 9:55 pm with the longest and largest fireworks display in the city's history choreographed to the sounds of the Nashville Symphony. Riverfront Park will be open for viewing the fireworks display where video screens and audio will also be available. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include portions of 1st Avenue through 7th Avenue, Broadway, Demonbreun, Commerce Street, Church Street, Korean Veterans Boulevard and more. Click here for the complete list of closures. SATURDAY, JULY 4, NOON - 6 PM
LOCATION: TENNESSEE BREW WORKS FREE

Two local breweries, Tennessee Brew Works and Little Harpeth Brewing, are teaming up for a 4th of July bash. Tennessee Brew Works will host the event from noon - 6 pm, including lots of craft beer and live music by Project 48, The Ransom Notes, Adam Dalton and The Tennessee Warblers. The party will continue at Little Harpeth Brewing at 6 pm with more beer, music and a great view of the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration.

 

Red, White & Booze

 

SATURDAY, JULY 4, 5 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: CITY WINERY $30

Enjoy a fireworks pre-party at City Winery. Indulge in Beverage Director David Mensch's curated list of red, white, rosé and sparkling wines. The walk-around tasting will take place in the upstairs lounge as well as the outdoor patios. Burgers and hot dogs will be sold à la carte.

 

4th of July Celebration with Fletcher, Bell & Ward

Enjoy great food and live music by Fletcher, Bell and Ward while you watch the Let Freedom Sing! Music City July 4th Celebration fireworks show from The Listening Room Cafe's awesome patio.

 

Free All-Star Concert

 

TUESDAY, JULY 7, EVENT BEGINS: 5 PM; CONCERT BEGINS: 6 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM FREE

To celebrate the release of "Dylan, Cash, and the Nashville Cats: A New Music City," a two-disc audio companion to the exhibit of the same name, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will host a free concert on Tuesday, July 7. All-star performers include John Carter Cash and Ana Cristina, Julie Christensen, Radney Foster, Jeff Hanna and many more. Plus, face painting, balloon artists and local food trucks. The first 200 attendees to arrive will receive a commemorative Hatch Show Print poster.
