​Thursday, September 3: Busy day downtown!
Heads up! Expect unusually heavy afternoon traffic downtown on Thursday, September 3 due to a Tennessee Titans' game, Live on the Green, Nashville Sounds' game and a concert at the Ryman Auditorium. Plan carefully because of all of these events combined with regular afternoon traffic! Consider using alternate routes or transportation (MTA, RTA, Nashville B-cycle, etc.).

Live on the Green: Moon Taxi

 

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 6:15 PM - 11 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

Enjoy live music outside in Public Square, located in front of the Metro Courthouse! This seventh annual concert series brings local and national artists to the stage. Blankets, folding chairs, strollers and water bottles are welcome at this free four-week concert series. The lineup for Thursday, September 3 includes Greg Holden, The Delta Saints and Moon Taxi as the headliner. $10 parking available in the Metro Courthouse parking garage, located directly below the park. Free bicycle parking. Or, take Nashville B-cycle and beat the traffic. VIP tickets available for $65 - $150. Tickets include beer, wine, soft drinks, water, food and an incredible view of the stage. Please note: road closures associated with this event. 3rd Avenue North (Union Street to James Robertson Parkway) and Deaderick Street (3rd Avenue North to 4th Avenue North) will be closed from 5 pm until 11 pm on Thursday, September 3.

 

Nashville Sounds vs. Round Rock Express

Enjoy the final game of the Nashville Sounds' inaugural season at First Tennessee Park! The Sounds will take on Round Rock Express on Thursday, September 3 at 7:05 pm.

The 2015-2016 season of the Christ Church Cathedral Arts Series kicks off with a concert by Billy R. Hunter, Jr., Principal Trumpet with the Metropolitan Opera in New York and Assistant Principal Trumpet with the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra in Chicago. A Juilliard School graduate, he has performed throughout the United States and internationally.

 

Back to the Bridge Mixer

 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 8 PM - 1 AM
LOCATION: JOHN SEIGENTHALER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE $10

The sixth annual John Merritt Classic "Back to the Bridge" Mixer! The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge will transform into a kick-off party for the Tennessee State University vs. Alabama State football game, which takes place on Sunday, September 6 at Nissan Stadium. Featuring live music, dancing, and food and drink vendors.

 

The University of Tennessee vs. Bowling Green State University

The University of Tennessee and Bowling Green State University will meet at Nissan Stadium to open the 2015 football season! This marks the first time the two teams have played each other.

 

Rewind BBQ Festival

 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, GATES OPEN: 4 PM; MUSIC BEGINS: 6 PM
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK $35

Enjoy live performances at Riverfront Park while tasting some of the South's best BBQ. This second annual event will feature live music by Midnight Star, Shirley Murdock, Sunshine Anderson, Juvenile, Da Brat and Chubb Rock.

 

First Saturday Art Crawl

 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: 5TH AVENUE OF THE ARTS FREE

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Enjoy live music on the performance platforms along 5th Avenue North by Double Intenders and The Ukedelics. Plus, Puckett's Trolley will be on-site. Two Gray Line Art Crawl Downtown Trolleys will provide complimentary rides along the route from 6 pm - 10 pm. Please note: road closure associated with this event. The southbound lane on 5th Avenue North (Church Street to Union Street) will be closed beginning as early as 5 pm and ending as late as 9 pm on Saturday, September 5. Participating galleries in this month's crawl include:

Art Crawl After Party

The first Saturday of each month, Printers Alley will transform into its own gallery—complete with local artwork exhibits plus a live paint show inside Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar (cover charge at Bourbon Street is $10). This event will continue on the first Saturday of each month through October 3, 2015. Songwriters Singing for Coffee

The Fifth Third Center and Starbucks present Songwriters Singing for Coffee, an outdoor concert on the plaza during the First Saturday Art Crawl. Featured artists include Scott Reeves, Brian White, Karyn Williams, Greg Friia, Julie Roberts, Ella Mae Bowen, Kalie Shorr and Karli Chayne.

 

Fix a Flat Social

 

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 6 PM - 7:30 PM
LOCATION: EMMA FREE

Whether you have no idea how to fix a flat, just get the general idea or are an expert flat-fixer, Walk Bike Nashville invites you to come, learn, share your knowledge and mingle with other bicycle enthusiasts. Certified bicycle instructors will be on-site for this hands-on workshop about changing tubes and tires. After the workshop segment, everyone is invited to swap stories, share any tips and enjoy some beverages provided by Yazoo Brewing Company and Taproom.

 

Troubadour Society: 4th Annual Nightfall at the Hall

 

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 6 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM FREE WITH MEMBERSHIP

Nightfall at the Hall is the signature event for the Troubadour Society, a community of young leaders ages 40 and under who sustain the world-class home of country music. This event will feature performances by Seth Alley, Levi Hummon and a surprise, chart-topping special guest.
