Interstate 40 Closures: Friday, October 23 - Monday, October 25
TDOT's Fast Fix 8 continues this weekend! I-40 will be closed from the I-40/I-65 split west of downtown to the I-40 split south of downtown. Charlotte Avenue will be closed from 10th Avenue to 16th Avenue. 12th Avenue North will be closed from Clinton Street to Charlotte Avenue. Closures will begin Friday, October 23 at 8 pm and end Monday, October 25 at 6 am. Detours and more info can be found on the Fast Fix 8 website. NOTE: Use the 2nd Ave/4th Ave exit to access downtown from I-40.

Just in time for Halloween, this classic tale of love, lust and blood returns to Nashville Ballet for the first time since 2007. Bram Stoker’s characters are resurrected to life to explore the conflict between carnal desire and rational thought.

Don’t miss this rare opportunity to hear the finest orchestral compositions of the Baroque era performed live at the Schermerhorn. Virtuosic, dynamic and overflowing with richly imaginative music, the six Brandenburg Concertos still sound as fresh and exciting today as they must have when audiences first heard these works nearly 300 years ago. Plus, a free classical conversation one hour before show time and an informal question-and-answer session following the concert.

LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK
A 196-mile, team-oriented running event that will push participants through the birthplace of country music: Tennessee. Starting in Chattanooga, runners will hug the Tennessee River and head northwest. Teams will run, day and night, across the rolling hills of southern Tennessee while enjoying the stunning October foliage. After the hills, runners will pass through historic Lynchburg. The race will wrap up when participants honky tonk their way to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.

The Phoenix Club of Nashville presents the 14th annual Taste of Nashville. Enjoy tastings from several local restaurants including Acme Feed & Seed, City Winery, Goo Goo Shop, Moto, Southernaire Market, The Southern Steak & Oyster, St. Anejo, Virago and many more. Plus, an open bar and live music. Proceeds benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee and Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee.

WSMV Channel 4 will host this third annual event to help Middle Tennesseans lead a healthier life. The expo brings exhibitors and attendees together in a one-of-a-kind event focusing on health and wellness. Take advantage of free health screenings, exercise classes, cooking demonstrations, Halloween-themed health and wellness activities for kids, contests and giveaways, and more. Plus, national celebrities will join the WSMV news team for appearances, presentations and autograph signings.

Black 13 Tattoo Parlor will host its third annual LIVE event on Saturday, October 24. Black 13 Tattoo artists and special guest artists will provide a series of custom-designed flash art for customers to choose from and will tattoo each piece on a first-come, first-served basis. Each tattoo will have a set price and 100% of the proceeds will support Women Rock for the Cure. Plus, a silent auction, live music, local vendors and family-friendly activities. Plus, eat and drink at the nearby Cinco de Mayo and the restaurant will donate a portion of the proceeds to the cause.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24, 6 PM
LOCATION: CITY WINERY $20 ONE NIGHT; $35 WEEKEND PASS
Nashville’s very own comedy improv festival presents more than 20 troupes from all over the country, including El Guapo, Sisterwives, Moniker Fun Bags, Samurai Drunk and From Justin to Kelly. In addition to the out-of-state talent, most of Music City's favorite improv troupes will also be making an appearance, including LOL Nashville and Music City Improv. The festival begins on Friday, October 23 at The BLDG in East Nashville and concludes on Saturday, October 24 at City Winery. A festival wristband will grant access for all shows on both nights. Or, purchase a ticket to an individual night.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24, NOON - 4 PM
LOCATION: TENNESSEE STATE MUSEUM FREE
The Tennessee State Museum’s annual ghost story festival, Haunted Museum, will take place on Saturday, October 24. The event features a “ghost trail” through the museum with chilling stories of Tennessee's past as well as prizes, crafts and refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to wear their best costumes.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25, 11 AM - 6 PM

M Street presents its inaugural “pop-up” Art Goes Alternative exhibit at The Rosewall on Sunday, October 25. The artwork of more than 25 of Nashville’s most talented tattoo artists, street artists, sign painters and screen printers will be displayed. Plus, multiple local musical acts will complement the showcase with their performances throughout the event. Cash bar available.
McKendree United Methodist Church is celebrating 228 years of ministry in downtown Nashville. Be a part of the celebration worship. A reception will follow, along with a silent auction fundraiser for its downtown ministries. Free parking is available on Sunday at the McKendree Center Garage. Take the garage elevator to the fourth level and the church door is beside the garage elevator.
Don’t miss the red carpet arrivals before the 2015 Country Music Hall of Fame inductions of Grady Martin, Jim Ed Brown and The Browns, and The Oak Ridge Boys. Hosted by WSM-AM’s Bill Cody, guests will enjoy interviews, trivia, giveaways and more. The fan experience is free and open to the public.

Trigiani will visit the Nashville Public Library to discuss her new book, "All the Stars in the Heavens." The League of Women Voters of Nashville, a local nonprofit organization encouraging informed and active participation of citizens in government, is hosting “Voting Rights for Women” on Thursday, October 29 at the Hermitage Hotel. Anne Davis is the featured speaker for the event and will tell the story of her great grandmother, Frances Bond Davis. Mayor Megan Barry will introduce Davis. Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Featuring the legendary John Barrymore, this tale of good and evil is the ultimate Halloween tale, and organist Peter Krasinski will bring it vividly to life. Plus, “frightfully festive” activities beginning at 6 pm, including the Victorian Two-Faced Fête, a photo booth, a costume contest, prizes and ticket giveaways, and special Halloween drinks.
