New restaurant: Potbelly Sandwich Shop!
220 11th Ave S. 615-454-6001. This new sandwich shop in The Gulch is open for lunch and dinner. Menu items include sandwiches, salads, soup, chili, milkshakes and smoothies. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 9 pm and Sunday, 11 am - 8 pm.

Celebrate Diwali

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 6 PM AND 7:30 PM
LOCATION: CHAUHAN ALE & MASALA HOUSE $15

Chef Chauhan and her team will host the first Diwali celebration! There will be Gol Guppa eating contests at 6 pm and 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 11. Entry fee is $15 and the winner receives a $100 Chauhan gift card. Enjoy tableside Papadi Chaat and celebrate the festival of lights with friends and family. Guests will receive Diwali treats, compliments of Chauhan Ale & Masala House. Who Knew Presents The Pitch: An Evening With Music Supervisors

Who Knew will present “The Pitch: An Evening With Music Supervisors.” This will be a first-of-its-kind event for Nashville as music supervisors representing TV, film, trailers, video games and advertising will listen to live bands perform their material in hopes that a song may materialize into a placement right on the spot.

 

Connecting Disciplines: Phantom Bodies: The Human Aura in Art

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 6:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS GALLERY ADMISSION REQUIRED

In conjunction with "Phantom Bodies: The Human Aura in Art," the Frist Center is proud to present Connecting Disciplines, in-gallery conversations that explore key exhibit themes. "Phantom Bodies" features contemporary artists exploring the absent or transformed body and how this often connects to emotion and universal experiences. Join Dr. Amich, assistant professor of English at Vanderbilt University, and Chief Curator Scala as they discuss representations of trauma, disappearance and loss.

 

Winter Wine Love Pairing Dinner

Frothy Monkey's final wine dinner of 2015! This unique five-course dinner will be perfectly paired with wine to complement each dish. First Fridays

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 4 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE CITY CLUB FREE

All Nashville City Club members, potential members and guests interested in learning more about the club are invited to its monthly open house happy hour. Events will be held on the first Friday of each month at 4 pm (with the exception of November, which will be held on the second Friday) at the Nashville City Club Grill. This free monthly event allows members the chance to showcase the club to interested co-workers or friends. Each attendee will receive two drink tickets. Please RSVP to Madison@nashvillecity.com.

 

Nashville Half Marathon, Marathon & 5K

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14, HALF MARATHON & MARATHON BEGINS: 7 AM; 5K BEGINS: 8 AM
LOCATION: THE DISTRICT 5K: $45; HALF MARATHON: $95; MARATHON: $105

Whether an out-of-towner or a lifelong local, runners will love this route that goes through some of Nashville's most beautiful and historic scenery in The Gulch, downtown, East Nashville and other neighborhoods. Half or full marathon course option available, as well as a 5K route. The run begins at Broadway and 1st Avenue. Following the run, participants will be rewarded with music, food and complimentary Shock Top beer at a block party. This event will benefit Gilda's Club Nashville. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Roads along the course will be closed beginning as early as 7 am until as late as 2 pm on Saturday, November 14. Plus, Broadway at 1st Avenue will be closed from 6 pm on Friday, November 13 until 4 pm on Saturday, November 14.

 

Charlotte's Web

Hats off to High Hopes

High Hopes Development Center presents its 18th annual Hats off to High Hopes charity event on Sunday, November 15 at 7:30 pm. The event will feature performances by Jonathan Cain, Tim Nichols, The Warren Brothers, Jamie O'Neal and more. High Hopes Development Center is a local nonprofit that has been equipping children and youth, with and without special needs, to reach their maximum potential for more than 31 years.

 

OnStage in the Off-Season Benefit Concert

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 8 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $54 - $104

It’s the off-season for Major League Baseball, and Nashville’s Pujols Family Foundation is taking the stage with The Sam Bush Band. Grammy Award-winning multi-instrumentalist Sam Bush and his band will be joined by friends Jeff Black, Rodney Crowell, Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss and John Oates and other special guests for Onstage in the Off-Season. The Pujols Family Foundation, which benefits individuals with Down syndrome, was founded by three-time MVP, nine-time MLB All-Star and Roberto Clemente Award recipient Albert Pujols. Pujols (Los Angeles Angels) will highlight the work being done by the Pujols Family Foundation both in Nashville and on a global spectrum.

 

Hockey & Heels

Join the Nashville Predators for Hockey & Heels to get an exclusive look inside the organization while learning more about hockey. Whether you are new to hockey or a die-hard fan, this event is a perfect girls' night out. During Bridgestone Arena events, park for free at Nissan Stadium Lot R. Optional round-trip shuttle service is $3 per person with a convenient drop-off point near the arena. Click here for details. (Tip: You don't have to attend an event at the arena to use this service. However, the free parking is only available on the event dates listed on the BEEP website).
