Music City Thanksgiving Day 8/4 Miler

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 26, RACE BEGINS: 8 AM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE RESCUE MISSION $40 IN ADVANCE; $45 RACE DAY

This fourth annual race will begin and end at the Nashville Rescue Mission and go through the streets of downtown Nashville. Runners can choose either a four or eight mile course. Participants are encouraged to bring a frozen turkey to packet pickup or on race day to be donated to the Nashville Rescue Mission. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Road closures include Lafayette Street, Demonbreun, 8th Avenue South to 4th Avenue South, Korean Veterans Boulevard and surrounding Nissan Stadium streets. Roads will be closed from as early as 8 am until as late as 10 am on Thursday, November 26. Click here for the complete route.

 

Thanksgiving Buffet at Adele's

Nashville Public Library's Children's Department Reopening

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 3:30 PM - 6 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

Celebrate the reopening of the remodeled children’s department at the Nashville Public Library! Parents and children are invited to participate in a parade. To join, gather from 3:30 pm - 4 pm in the temporary children’s area on the second floor. The parade will go from there, across the mezzanine and to the doors of new children’s area for a ribbon cutting. Opening activities include a special puppet show performance, a kid craft in the activity room, a photo booth and activities for tweens (ages 8-13).

 

90th Annual Waffle Shop

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3, 11 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH $10

A long-running Christmas tradition, the Waffle Shop will serve homemade waffles, turkey hash, Southern grits, linked sausages, spiced tea and coffee. This year promises to be its biggest one to date, including Santa selfies, a celebrity waffler and much more. Plus, live music, a silent auction, baked goods sale and gift shop.
