The Peter Mayer Group, led by Peter Mayer of Jimmy Buffett’s Coral Reefers Band, will stop in Nashville on Thursday, December 3 as part of its annual "Stars and Promises" Christmas benefit tour. This year’s show, titled "A Restless World, A Silent Night," will feature original and traditional holiday music from the group and is the latest of 15 successful "Stars and Promises" tours. An offering will be gathered during the show to support two local charities, Room in the Inn and Lutheran Social Services of Tennessee.
THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3, 11 AM - 2 PM
The final Street Food Thursday of the year! Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North. This event is scheduled to pick back up again on Thursday, January 14, depending on weather.
A long-running Christmas tradition, the Waffle Shop will serve homemade waffles, turkey hash, Southern grits, linked sausages, spiced tea and coffee. This year promises to be its biggest one to date, including Santa selfies, a celebrity waffler and much more. Plus, live music, a silent auction, baked goods sale and gift shop. The 2015 Merry Mercy Christmas Benefit will take place at the Hilton Nashville Downtown on Thursday, December 3. Festivities will begin at 6 pm with a reception and silent auction featuring travel packages, sports memorabilia, jewelry and artwork. At 7 pm, a gourmet dinner will be served followed by entertainment from award-winning singer/songwriter Nicole C. Mullen. The evening will also include a special message by Nancy Alcorn, founder and president of Mercy Multiplied, as well as inspirational stories from Mercy graduates.

Mayor Megan Barry will launch Nashville's holiday season by lighting the city's Christmas tree. The mayor will flip the switch to the tree and the wreaths decorating the Metro Historic Courthouse and Founders' Tower. This family-friendly event will feature food, hot beverages and live music.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 5, 10 AM

The 62nd annual Nashville Christmas Parade celebrates "Miracle on Broadway." Country singer and actress Jana Kramer is this year's grand marshal. Along with Kramer, this year’s parade will feature new entertainment including Nashville Ballet, the Tennessee State University Aristocrat of Bands and new balloons and floats. This year’s parade has a new start time (Saturday morning at 10 am) and a new route. The route will begin at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Broadway, heading east down Broadway to 2nd Avenue, crossing over the Cumberland River and ending at the base of the Woodland Street Bridge. The parade, hosted by Piedmont Natural Gas, will benefit Piedmont's Share the Warmth program. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Closures include the Woodland Street Bridge and Broadway (8th Avenue to 2nd Avenue). Closures begin at 7 am and are rolling road closures. All roads will re-open by noon.
Children of all ages are invited to share their Christmas lists with Santa and pose for a photo. Participants will also receive a commemorative photo holder designed by Hatch Show Print. Timed passes are available in 15-minute increments. Pass pick-up begins at 9 am. Museum members may reserve their passes in advance. This event will be offered every Saturday and Sunday until Christmas.
The Blair School of Music's Suzuki Strings will perform songs of the season in an event that has become a holiday tradition at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. Enjoy the talents of approximately 50 Blair School of Music’s violin and cello students ages 5-13. In addition to traditional carols, the students will perform classical works by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.
This 12th annual holiday gathering will begin with a special viewing of "It's a Wonderful Life" at 5 pm. A festive reception will follow in the ballroom complete with holiday fare, drinks, live music and dancing. All proceeds will benefit the Wonderful Life Foundation, a nonprofit that seeks to ease the financial burdens encountered by families of children with cancer. Advanced registration encouraged.

Join Santa for breakfast at Batch, located inside the Nashville Farmers' Market. Breakfast will include My Friend Who Loves to Cook Sunday Morning Pancakes, Southern Belle Biscuits, Humphreys Street Coffee and more. In addition to breakfast with Santa, the Nashville Public Library will present a short Christmas-themed storytime.

Celebrate the 50 years of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” with a night of wonderful music inspired by the beloved holiday television classic! One of the founding fathers of contemporary jazz, pianist and composer David Benoit has paid tribute to Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang through music for more than 15 years. He’ll be joined by Grammy-nominated singer Jane Monheit and the Nashville Children’s Choir on “Christmas Time is Here” and a host of other Peanuts holiday classics in a very special, one-night-only jazz performance at the Schermerhorn.
First Baptist Nashville is ushering in the Christmas season beginning Sunday, December 6. The evening will feature the Children's, Youth and Sanctuary Choirs along with the Sanctuary Orchestra.
