New coffee shop, bar and restaurant: Steadfast Commons!
299 Demonbreun Street. 615-601-2110. This new coffee shop and restaurant is located inside the Encore building. Offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails. Menu items includes sandwiches, soup, salad, breakfast items and more. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3 pm and 5 pm to 1 am; Saturday and Sunday, 8 am to 3 pm and 5 pm to 1 am.
 

New recreational entertainment: Escape Experience - Nashville!

Pictures at an Exhibition

Vivid, dramatic and bursting with color, this is one can’t-miss concert at the Schermerhorn. Mussorgsky’s "Pictures at an Exhibition" takes a kaleidoscopic journey through an exhibit of artworks by the composer’s friend Victor Hartmann. French composer Ravel transformed the Russian master’s music into a breathtaking orchestral showpiece—a vehicle tailor-made for the amazing musicians of the Nashville Symphony. Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 is one of the composer’s unheralded classics—lyrical, poetic and downright sensuous.

 

Spring Lunch & Learn Series: Grow Your Results

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18, NOON - 1:30 PM
LOCATION: UBS TOWER $15

O3 Consulting in partnership with Nashville’s Intelligent Office will kick off their spring lunch and learn series with Grow Your Results. This is a results-oriented workshop focusing on growing your personal and business results through vision creation, building SMART Goals, asking proactive questions, eliminating obstacles and creating an action plan for success. At the end of this 90-minute workshop, you will have the necessary tools to complete your goals successfully. The class is limited to 15 people; RSVP here. This event will be held in the Intelligent Office Space (suite 1550) inside the UBS Tower.

 

Night Market

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 5 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

Night Market is continuing into the winter months by popular demand! Enjoy shopping, live jazz music, seasonal drinks, local artisan booths and much more. Market House restaurants and shops will be open. Note: the Farm and Craft sheds will be closed during the event due to winter weather.

 

Squad

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 9 PM - 2 AM
LOCATION: THE ROSEWALL $20 GENERAL ADMISSION; $35 VIP

Squad is the most inventive DJ event of the year. Four of Nashville's top DJs will share the stage for a constant rotation of mixing beats. All four of their unique styles will be integrated into a dueling DJ event. The Rosewall will transform into a club like no other in Nashville, complete with a light show and dancers in LED costumes you won't want to miss. VIP tickets include an exclusive lounge area with a private bar. 21+ event.

 

2016 LEGO Contest

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20 - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 2 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

View all of the 2016 LEGO contest entries at the Nashville Public Library on Saturday, February 20 - Sunday, February 21. This annual contest allows participants of all ages to use their skills to build their most creative LEGO designs. Plus, don't miss a special contest performance by Mr. Bond and the Science Guys on Saturday at 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at 3 pm.

 

Nashville Predators Fangtastic 5K Run/Walk

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 10 AM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $45 IN ADVANCE; $50 RACE DAY

This annual 5K takes runners and walkers through downtown Nashville and the surrounding area, beginning and ending at Bridgestone Arena. The entry fee includes a 5K t-shirt and a voucher for any Monday - Thursday Preds upcoming home game in March 2016. Registered runners also have the option of adding additional upper level tickets for $20 each, or upgrading to the lower bowl for $20 additional per ticket (maximum of two). Click here for more information and to register in advance. Please note: road closures associated with this event. 5th Avenue South (Broadway to Demonbreun) and Demonbreun (5th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South) will be closed from 6 am until noon on Saturday, February 20. Plus, Demonbreun (6th Avenue South running west out of downtown) will be closed from 9 am until as late as 11 am. The remaining closures do not impact downtown. Click here for the route and more information.

 

Lenten Choral Evensong with Organ Concert

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 3:30 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL FREE

Christ Church Cathedral invites you to a Lenten Choral Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Dr. Michael Velting, Canon for Music. Prior to the Evensong, Kevin Jones, Minister of Music at First Congregational Church in Columbus, Ohio, will present an organ concert. The Evensong and organ concert are free and open to the public. Childcare is available and a reception will follow the Evensong.

Curator’s Tour: Treasures from the House of Alba: 500 Years of Art and Collecting

More than five centuries in the making, the Alba collection is one of the finest private collections in Europe and is usually kept behind closed doors in three splendid palaces in Spain. Join Trinita Kennedy to find out how this aristocratic family acquired masterpieces such as Francisco Goya’s "Duchess of Alba in White," as well as the largest archive of Christopher Columbus documents in the world.

 

Road Closures

Road Closures: Construction on Church Street

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 18 - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 21

The eastbound lane of Church Street from 6th Avenue North to 5th Avenue North will be closed on the following dates and times to facilitate construction-related activities. Thursday, February 18 - Friday, February 19 from 9 am to 3 pm. And, Saturday, February 20 - Sunday, February 21 from 7 am to 4:30 pm. Also, 5th Avenue North from Commerce Street to Church Street will be closed from 10 pm on Friday, February 19 until 6 am on Saturday, February 20.
