USA Women's Soccer SheBelieves Cup

LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM SINGLE GAME TICKETS: $95 - $300

U.S. Soccer will host an elite, four-team international tournament featuring four of the top five ranked women’s national teams in the world as England, France and Germany join the USA for the SheBelieves Cup. The tournament is coming to Nashville on Sunday, March 6 for a doubleheader (USA vs. France at 2 pm and England vs. Germany at 4:30 pm).

It’s a night of all-time classics highlighted by Richard Strauss’ vivid and playful "Don Quixote." Featuring world-renowned cellist Johannes Moser, this whimsical piece makes brilliant use of the orchestra to recount the adventures of Cervantes’ would-be knight and his sidekick, Sancho Panza. Brahms’ Third shows the symphonic master at his finest, with music full of passion, emotion and transcendent beauty. And whether you know Rossini’s "Barber of Seville" from Looney Tunes or the Opera House, this concert opener features some of the most memorable melodies ever written. Plus, a free classical conversation one hour before show time and an informal Q&A session with the conductor after the concert.

 

Fresh Art Friday

LOCATION: THE ARTS COMPANY FREE

The Arts Company will feature an exhibit by photographer extraordinaire Fred Dusel, "Rare Carbon Photographic Prints." Preview the exhibit during Fresh Art Friday, which will include a conversation with Dusel and entrepreneur Michael Burcham. Hosted by Nashville Arts Magazine and moderated by Editor Paul Polycarpou. Admission is free, but RSVP is required.

7th Annual Ride for Reading Acoustic Benefit Concert

 

SATURDAY, MARCH 5, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: 3RD AND LINDSLEY $15 GENERAL ADMISSION; $50 VIP

The 7th Annual Ride for Reading Acoustic Benefit Concert will feature Sean McConnell and Cole Taylor with special guest Travis Denning. Proceeds from the concert will benefit the mission of Ride for Reading, a local nonprofit that works to promote literacy and healthy living among children in low-income communities by donating age-appropriate books via bicycle.

 

A Tribute to Music City

This year’s concert pays homage to the history-making sounds of Music City. The performance will feature Elisha Hoffman and Rebecca Lynn Howard along with Even Stevens, Paul Overstreet and Marti Frederiksen. Their legendary work covers all genres of popular music and spans decades.

 

The Phantom of the Opera

Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "The Phantom of the Opera" is coming to Nashville! Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is “bigger and better than ever before” and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler and new staging by director Laurence Connor. The beloved story and thrilling score -- with songs like “Music of the Night,” “All I Ask of You” and “Masquerade” -- will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this "Phantom" one of the largest productions now on tour.

 

2016 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament

The Southeastern Conference Men's Basketball Tournament is coming to Nashville! Click here to check out the tournament's full schedule. The winner of the 13-game tournament will receive the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Going to the games? Park for free in Lot R at Nissan Stadium and catch a shuttle ride with BEEP or pedal a Nashville B-cycle to the event. Please note: road closures associated with this event. 2016 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament: Road Closures

TUESDAY, MARCH 8 - SUNDAY, MARCH 13

Several road closures are planned for the 2016 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament and 2016 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament: Fanfare. Broadway (4th to 5th Avenue) will be closed from Tuesday, March 8 at 8 am until as late as Sunday, March 13 at 8 pm. 5th Avenue will be open one way heading north from Demonbreun to Commerce. The closure will begin two hours before each game, and will end two hours after the last game is complete. Game times are: Wednesday, March 9: 7 pm - 9 pm, Thursday, March 10: noon - 8 pm, Friday, March 11: noon - 8 pm, Saturday, March 12: noon - 5 pm and Sunday, March 13: noon - 2 pm. The westbound lane of Broadway (3rd to 4th Avenue) will be closed beginning on Tuesday, March 8 at 8 am until Sunday, March 13 at 8 pm.
