9 Arcade. 615-480-2788. This new shop in the Arcade offers jewelry with a local flair. Great options for gifts including necklaces that pay homage to Nashville and Tennessee. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 10 am - 3 pm and during the First Saturday Art Crawl from 6 pm - 9 pm.
 

 

New juice bar: Daily Juice Cafe!
211 3rd Avenue South. 615-742-5184. This juice bar is located at the base of the Encore next door to Jimmy John's and Ensemble. Menu options include smoothies, milks, green juices, signature juices, salads, wraps, pizza and more. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7 am - 5 pm and Saturday - Sunday, 9 am - 5 pm.

Job Boot Camp

THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 10 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

FOX 17 and some of Nashville's top companies are joining forces to bring Middle Tennessee's best talent and employers together. All job-seekers and career changers are welcome to attend this free event that will feature close to 40 companies. The event includes private interviews, networking opportunities and breakout sessions designed to help prospective employees with resume review, interviewing skills, social media advice and more.

 

2016 Wine Festival & Tasting

THURSDAY, MARCH 31, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $75 IN ADVANCE; $100 AT THE DOOR

Join the Nashville Predators Foundation for the 11th annual Wine Festival & Tasting on Thursday, March 31 over the ice at Bridgestone Arena. The festival will feature more than 225 higher-end wines, beer, and a spirits tasting and an extensive silent auction with more than 200 items. Plus, culinary delicacies from local restaurants, Predators personalities, a Gnash photo opportunity and more. A VIP dinner and tasting is also available ($200).

 

The Triple Sip

FRIDAY, APRIL 1, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET $60 IN ADVANCE; $70 AT THE DOOR

Enjoy The Triple Sip, a wine, spirits and beer tasting at the Nashville Farmers' Market! This event, formerly known as d'Vine Selections, will offer guests the chance to sip, taste and bid the night away. All wine, beer and spirits are coordinated by wine expert Ed Fryer of the brand new Village Spirits and Wine in Hillsboro Village. Plus, musical entertainment provided by renowned jazz musician Denny Jiosa and a delicious selection of hors d’oeuvres courtesy of local restaurants. The event also features a unique silent auction featuring trips, collectibles, event tickets, dinners and more.  Every guest will go home with a commemorative etched tasting glass.

 

Walk in Their Shoes

SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 9:30 AM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL FREE

For the last 15 years, the Sexual Assault Center has invited the community to come together to create awareness, raise funds and support survivors of sexual violence. This year, they are teaming up with Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee to create an even bigger event packed full of family-friendly fun to share the message that prevention is possible. Join them for a 1K awareness walk and after party. Registration is free. The first 500 people to sign up will receive the official walk t-shirt.

 

I Am Second

SATURDAY, APRIL 2, FUN RUN: 8 AM; 5K & 10K: 8:30 AM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE 5K: $20 - $40; 10K: $30 - $50; FUN RUN: $20

Experience the streets of sights of downtown Nashville while running or walking for a cause! Grab your running shoes and help raise awareness for the nonprofit that’s changed lives through real stories and benefit organizations in the Nashville region. The route starts and finishes in Public Square Park, goes past Nissan Stadium, across the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, past the Country Music Hall of Fame and other Nashville landmarks. Please note: roads along the course will be closed as early as 8 am and reopen as late as noon on Saturday, April 2.

 

Grand Opening: GRAMMY Museum Gallery™

SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 10 AM - 5 PM
LOCATION: MUSICIANS HALL OF FAME & MUSEUM $12; FREE KIDS 10 & UNDER

The first GRAMMY Museum Gallery™ in the world is opening in Nashville! Housed in the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum, you can experience exactly what it takes to create an album -- from songwriting to producing, and everything in between. This brand new gallery is fully interactive and great fun for all ages. The grand opening will feature live music by The Pfeiffer Twins, Even Stevens, Ryan Steele and Josh Hill, food trucks, giveaways, musical arts and crafts, and musician meet and greets. Half-priced tickets available all day ($12). Kids 10 and under receive free admission.

 

First Saturday Art Crawl

SATURDAY, APRIL 2, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: 5TH AVENUE OF THE ARTS FREE

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Enjoy live music on the performance platform along 5th Avenue North by Sonja Hopkins and Nashville Fashion Week Presents: Eric Adler Jazz Quintet. Two Gray Line Art Crawl Downtown Trolleys will provide complimentary shuttle service along the route from 6 pm - 10 pm. Please note: road closure associated with this event. The southbound lane on 5th Avenue North (Church Street to Union Street) will be closed beginning as early as 5 pm and ending as late as 9 pm on Saturday, April 2. Participating galleries in this month's crawl include:

MDA Muscle Walk

SATURDAY, APRIL 2, PRE-WALK ACTIVITIES: NOON; WALK BEGINS: 1:15 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA DONATIONS ENCOURAGED

MDA Muscle Walk is a meaningful way for families, friends, neighbors and local businesses in Nashville to come together and show support for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The walk will begin inside Bridgestone Arena on the concourse and continue outside for one lap (approximately one mile total) from 1:15 pm - 2:30 pm. Plus, pre-walk activities starting at noon including music, popcorn and drinks, face painting, sign making, photo booth, games, mascots and much more. Food trucks will be on the plaza beginning at 1:15 pm, live music by The Ukedelics will start at 2 pm, and an awards ceremony will be at 2:30 pm.

 

Saviour

SUNDAY, APRIL 3, 6 PM
LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE FREE

First Baptist Nashville will present the powerful musical work "Saviour" on Sunday, April 3 featuring the Sanctuary Choir with special guests Larnelle Harris (five-time Grammy and 11-time Dove Award winner), Steve Green (four Grammy nominations, 18 No. 1 songs and seven Dove Awards), Rod Fletcher (studio musician and Grand Ole Opry background singer) and Ballet Magnificat, along with full professional orchestral accompaniment. "Saviour" is created by Greg Nelson and Bob Farrell, arranged by David Hamilton, with choral settings and orchestration written by Ronn Huff.

 

Art Goes Alternative

SUNDAY, APRIL 3, 11 AM - 6 PM
LOCATION: THE ROSEWALL FREE

M Street presents the second installment of the Art Goes Alternative series, supporting the artwork of more than 30 artists in The Rosewall. The event will include an exhibit of more than 50 customized skateboard decks by local and national artists. Enjoy the gallery of unique, contemporary art along with live music, a full bar and silent auction of customized dog sculptures. Free admission for humans, and a limited number of leashed dogs will be admitted for a $10 donation.

 

Nashville Fashion Week

Nashville Fashion Week is a city-wide celebration of Nashville’s thriving fashion and retail community and its vast array of creative talent. Featuring local, regional and national designers and industry professionals in an array of creative events throughout the week, explore the city’s diverse fashion and retail spaces throughout the week with promotions, partnerships and educational workshops. Nashville Fashion Week includes Shop Nashville featuring special events, trunk shows and deals at downtown retailers E.Allen, Margaret Ellis, Inc. and Two Old Hippies throughout the week. ‚Äč24th Annual Tin Pan South

Tin Pan South is the world's largest songwriters' festival. Currently in its 24th year, the festival boasts more than 300 songwriters performing over five days in celebrated venues throughout Nashville. Workplace Violence Seminar

TUESDAY, APRIL 5, 8 AM - NOON; 1 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: MUSIC CITY CENTER FREE

AlliedBarton in cooperation with Metro Nashville PD invite you to attend a free workplace violence seminar for the business community on Tuesday, April 5. The event will feature speakers Sergeant John Bourque, MNPD, speaking about active aggressors, and Bruce Blythe, Crisis Management International, speaking about understanding the violent mind and layoffs and terminations in the workplace. Seminar times are 8 am - noon and 1 pm - 5 pm (same content for both to accommodate schedules).

Downtown Home Tour

Tickets for the Downtown Home Tour are available. Tour tickets are $10 (ages 17 and under are free). Fourteen residential buildings are featured on our 13th annual tour on Sunday, April 10. While attending the tour, be sure to check out all of the downtown restaurants, shops and other businesses that are offering specials for the home tour. Cheap Parking Options

Park for only $5 weeknights after 6 pm and all day Saturday or Sunday at the Metro Courthouse Garage. Or, pay only $8 after 5 pm on weeknights or all day Saturday or Sunday at the Library Garage.
