Yoga on the Field

Join hundreds of yogis at Nissan Stadium for the second annual Yoga on the Field. This celebration of Nashville’s yoga community includes an invigorating twilight class that will stretch from end zone to end zone. The hourlong class will be led by Susannah Herring and Amanda McGown of Hot Yoga Plus paired with a custom playlist by DJ Mindub. All levels welcome. Then, stick around after class to meet and mingle over cocktails from the cash bar.

Gallery Talk: The Power of Pictures: Early Soviet Photography & Film

 

FRIDAY, MAY 20, NOON
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS GALLERY ADMISSION REQUIRED

Through more than 150 works, "The Power of Pictures" reveals how striking images by master photographers and filmmakers were seen as powerful propaganda tools in the new Soviet Union, and looks at photography and film together as influential and formally related media. Join Jens Hoffmann, the co-curator of the exhibit and a noted film historian, for a gallery talk about this period of artistic experimentation in the service of ideology. His talk will include a discussion of the relationship between the photographs and graphic design and printed materials in the exhibit.

 

High Tea

Tennessee Titans 5K Run/Walk

 

SATURDAY, MAY 21, 8 AM
LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM $50 IN ADVANCE; $55 RACE WEEKEND

Tennessee Titans fans will lace up their running shoes and complete a 3.1 mile fun run to kick off the 2016 Titans football season! The Titans welcome fans of all abilities to participate in the race, which starts outside Nissan Stadium and finishes on the field at the 50-yard line. Titans players and cheerleaders will be on hand to cheer on participants throughout the course. Runners/walkers will receive a race T-shirt, a commemorative timing chip and a ticket to one of three home division games in 2016 against Indianapolis, Houston or Jacksonville. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Korean Veterans Boulevard (eastbound lanes only from South 2nd Street to 1st Avenue South), 1st Avenue South (Korean Veterans Boulevard to Broadway), Broadway (1st Avenue to 3rd Avenue), 2nd Avenue (Broadway to Union), Union (3rd Avenue North to 1st Avenue North), Woodland Street Bridge and surrounding Nissan Stadium streets will be closed as early as 7:30 am until as late as 9:15 am on Saturday, May 21. Click here for the complete route.

 

Lung Force Walk

The Lung Force Walk celebrates the collective power of our breath. Friends, neighbors and colleagues will rally together to raise their voices against lung cancer—and for lung health for everyone. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Deaderick (3rd Avenue North to 6th Avenue North), 6th Avenue North (Deaderick to Union), Union (6th Avenue North to 1st Avenue North), Woodland Street Bridge and surrounding Nissan Stadium streets will be closed beginning as early as 10 am until as late as 11:30 am on Saturday, May 21. Click here for the complete route.

 

Nashville Wine & Food Festival

 

SATURDAY, MAY 21, NOON - 4 PM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL $83 GENERAL ADMISSION; $135 VIP

The Nashville Wine and Food Festival will be held on Saturday, May 21 at Bicentennial Mall from noon - 4 pm and will benefit the Nashville Symphony. Participants will gather to enjoy more than 150 top-notch wines from over 30 of the country's premier wineries paired with delicious bites from some of Nashville's top restaurants. In addition to great wines and food, the festival will also feature food demonstrations from local chefs and wine seminars by winemakers from all over the country where consumers can interact with chefs, winemakers and food artisans.

Dylan Fest is a celebration of Bob Dylan's 75th birthday! The two-night concert event will see an extraordinary and eclectic array of artists paying tribute to the music of Bob Dylan with unprecedented performances of their favorite Dylan songs. Artists include Emmylou Harris, Jason Isbell, Kacey Musgraves, Ann Wilson, Kurt Vile, Wynonna & The Big Noise, Boz Scaggs, Kesha, City & Colour, Moon Taxi and many more. National Bike to Work Day - NOTE: new date

 

TUESDAY, MAY 24, 7 AM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

NOTE: originally scheduled for Friday, May 20, this event has been moved to Tuesday, May 24. As part of Nashville Bike Month, Walk Bike Nashville invites bike commuters, curious and seasoned alike, to meet up at several locations around town and ride with each other on their way to work. Use the interactive map of meeting points and times to bike in with others. Plus, enjoy breakfast at Public Square at 7:45 am - 8:00 am. Don't own a bike? Use Nashville B-cycle to ride to work! Everyone is encouraged to use alternative transportation to get to work on Friday.

The MEND Experience

 

THURSDAY, MAY 26, 9 AM - NOON
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE

The MEND Experience is sponsored by Bank of America and will take place in the concourse at the Bridgestone Arena. This free event is a celebration of the work that men and women are doing in our community to end violence against women and girls, with a focus on the athletic community. Nashville Predators President & CEO will share how his organization is working in this effort, along with Vanderbilt Football Coach Derek Mason and TSU's Basketball Coach Dana Ford. Musical performance by critically acclaimed alt country singer Brennin.

 

Margaritaville Street Party

 

THURSDAY, MAY 26, 11 AM
LOCATION: JIMMY BUFFETT'S MARGARITAVILLE NASHVILLE FREE

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville Nashville will host a street party to coincide with Jimmy Buffett’s concert at Ascend Amphitheater on Thursday, May 26. The party will be on Broadway between 3rd and 4th Avenue in front of the Margaritaville restaurant. The fun begins at 11 am with an all-day outdoor street party with interactive games, great food and drinks, and live entertainment by multiple bands including event headliner Jerrod Neimann. Plus, stop by for a chance to win tickets to Buffett's show that night.

Report graffiti that needs to be removed, public sidewalks that need pressure washing, weeds, trash and other unsightly items. Use this form to send a request directly to our Clean and Safe Team manager.
