CMA Music Festival

THURSDAY, JUNE 9 - SUNDAY, JUNE 12
LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM

Four days of concerts and events! Nightly concerts at Nissan Stadium feature the big-name artists, daily concerts at Riverfront Park star well-known and up-and-coming artists, and Fan Fair X at Music City Center offers autograph signings and photos of the artists, shopping, live music and more. Take part in all of the free festivities offered this year including the free concerts at Riverfront Park! Additional free areas include the Chevrolet Cruze Park Stage at Walk of Fame Park, the Music City Stage inside Bridgestone Arena (the only FREE and INDOOR stage), two stages at Ascend Amphitheater (AT&T Skyview Stage and Budweiser Acoustic Stage), Gildan Broadway Stage at Hard Rock Cafe, HGTV Lodge in the alley between 3rd Avenue and 4th Avenue, and more. Click here for more information and a complete schedule of events. Please note: road closures associated with this event. See below for a list of road closures associated with the CMA Music Festival and its related events.

Several road closures are planned throughout downtown for the CMA Music FestivalCMA World GlobaLive!CMA Music Festival Kick-off ConcertMusic City Gives Back and the CMT Music AwardsThis list is organized by the date the closures begin. The end date is different for each road and is indicated below. Curator's Tour: Bellissima! The Italian Automotive Renaissance, 1945–1975

"Bellissima!" celebrates the visual dynamism and spirit of innovation that characterizes Italian coachbuilt cars, concept cars and motorcycles produced during the post–World War II economic revival known as The Italian Economic Miracle. Join chief curator Mark Scala for a guided tour of this exciting exhibit.

Plan to Play Public Meeting

THURSDAY, JUNE 9, NOON
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

Metro Parks and Recreation is kicking off a comprehensive yearlong master planning process, Plan to Play, with a series of community meetings and events to gain public input about how Nashvillians would like to see their park system change in the coming years. Join planning consultants and your neighbors on Thursday, June 9 at the Nashville Public Library. Mayor Megan Barry will also be in attendance. Metro Parks and the planning team will educate residents about the current state of Metro Parks and engage them in a broad discussion of the changes and improvements they would like to see in their parks and greenways system in the future. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share feedback in breakout sessions.

 

"PORKer Run" BBQ Food Tour Fundraiser

Nashville Food Adventures is holding a "PORKer Run" BBQ Food Tour Fundraiser. Travel through Nashville’s neighborhoods and taste delicious barbecue. Your $65 registration gets you generous samples at five amazing food stops, featuring some of Nashville's best barbecue, authentic Nashville hot chicken and a final stop for dessert. Participants in this special tour can caravan along on their own motorcycle, or ride in one of Nashville Food Adventures' air-conditioned vans. All proceeds will go to Hogs for Haiti, benefiting the Lifeline Christian Mission Children's Home in Grand Goave, Haiti.

 

Star Trek: Into Darkness -- Movie

Following last summer’s sold-out performance of Star Trek Live in Concert, Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise return to the Schermerhorn to battle their nemesis Khan in the thrilling sequel. Wine on the Roof

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 15, 5:30 PM - 7 PM
LOCATION: WATERMARK $50 PER EVENT; $200 FOR ENTIRE SERIES

Watermark is bringing the world’s finest wines to the Gulch with its new event, Wine on the Roof! Hosted on the third Wednesday of the month through September, each event offers a tantalizing mix of wines and flavors. With four to five different wines representing a different country/region, you’ll get a rich offering of tastes. Plus, light appetizers will be provided. Tickets are available for $50 per person. Or, buy a ticket to all of the events for $200 (a $50 savings). MTA/RTA Transit Plan Public Meeting

THURSDAY, JUNE 16, 11:30 AM - 1 PM
LOCATION: TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY - AVON WILLIAMS CAMPUS FREE

nMotion is the MTA/RTA strategic plan process, designed to engage Nashville and Middle Tennessee residents in designing a transit plan for the area. Tell them what you want our transit system to look like in 25 years and learn more about the latest updates on the Northwest corridor (the route between Clarksville, North Nashville and Downtown Nashville) at Tennessee State University Avon Williams Campus Auditorium (enter the building on the YMCA Way street level). Free parking is available off of 10th Avenue North in the TSU lot on a first-come, first-served basis. Dropping by over your lunch hour? A “grab and go” lunch will be available for purchase for $5.

Beat Traffic with B-cycle

The best way to buzz through traffic and road closures is via Nashville B-cycle! There are 272 bright red bikes located at 31 B-stations around town. The $5 access pass includes an unlimited number of rides that are 60 minutes or less for 24 hours. The 7-day pass is only $10 and an annual membership is $50. Keep all rides under 60 minutes to avoid overage fees. B-cycle has a responsive website and an app.

Downtown Grocery Stores

Downtown Nashville has two grocery stores! H.G. Hill Urban Market (415 Church Street) features produce, a selection of meats, bakery items, groceries, prepared food and more. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 6:30 am - 9 pm and Saturday - Sunday, 8 am - 9 pm. The Turnip Truck Urban Fare (321 12th Avenue S.) offers organic produce, fresh meats, prepared foods and additional groceries. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 7:30 am - 9 pm and Sunday, 9 am - 8 pm.
