The inaugural Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman series took place in 1994 at the then newly renovated Ryman Auditorium. Over the last 20 plus years, the series has become a Nashville summertime tradition as it regularly presents the biggest names in bluegrass on the very stage where the genre was born back in 1945. The 23rd annual series concludes on Thursday, July 28 with Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder.

Now in its 14th year, this exciting series takes place on the final Friday of June, July and August. Attendees are invited to enjoy an evening of live music, light snacks and beverages as well as the diverse exhibits on view in the Frist Center’s galleries. The opening night of "Women, Art and Social Change: The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise," an exhibit of the renowned New Orleans-based arts and craft venture, will be celebrated with the sounds of South Louisiana. Hailing from Lafayette, the Revelers combine swamp pop, Cajun, country and zydeco into an infectious medley of roots music. Halfbrass is a New Orleans-influenced quintet that mixes traditional brass band music with funk, jazz and rock. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Frist Fridays take place rain or shine.

The third Music City SUP Race returns to Nashville! This race welcomes paddle boarders, kayakers and prone paddlers to race in the heart of downtown Nashville. Pros and first-time racers welcome. The event launches from the East Bank of the Cumberland River, with lots of vendors helping kick off 2-mile and 6-mile races. Afterward, there will be an awards ceremony upstairs in the Cumberland River Compact River Center (inside The Bridge Building) and an after party. Proceeds from the race benefit the Cumberland River Compact, which works to protect our watershed.

Swirl. Sniff. Sip. City Winery will guide you through the basics, all the way to advanced winemaking with an interactive, geeky, “research”-intensive wine course. They’ll share professional tips on what you really need to know about the vine, farming, fermenting grape juice and the winemaking process, as well as how to utilize your wine savvy in the real world. This session will provide a deeper understanding on how to detect a faulted wine. Wine faults can go way beyond corked wines. Discover the differences in this class. Light cheese and charcuterie included.

Several road closures are planned throughout downtown for the Beachbody Coach Summit (taking place Thursday, July 28 - Sunday, July 31). Events are not open to the public, but take place at downtown locations including Music City Center, Bridgestone Arena, Walk of Fame Park and Lower Broadway. Expected attendance for events is as many as 24,000 people.
Roads and parks begin closing as early as 8 am on Thursday, July 28 and will re-open no later than noon on Saturday, July 30. This list is organized by the date the closures begin. The end date is different for each road and is indicated below. Most parks and roads are closed for multiple days.
