This free event offers an examination of the perishable artifacts at the Tennessee State Museum with curator of Native American history Dr. Rex Weeks. The museum holds some of the most exquisite artifacts of ancient America. Many of these are not on display, so this is your chance to learn about them from an expert. Join a virtual tour of some the perishable artifacts of the museum’s collection and see how each one reveals stories about our Native American predecessors. Bring your lunch and enjoy a free lecture.

This event brings the best improv comedians from the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade Theatres in New York and Los Angeles to new audiences all around the country. The UCB Theatre—founded by Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh—has been home to some of the biggest stars in comedy today. From TV shows like "Broad City," "Saturday Night Live," "Silicon Valley," "Veep" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," to films such as "Bridesmaids," "The Hangover" and "The Heat," its performers are everywhere. Not to mention they're in the writing rooms of "Key and Peele," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "Inside Amy Schumer" and many more.
Celebrate two commonly appreciated Southern traditions: hearty food and distilled spirits. This event will bring together 25 of Nashville’s best restaurants and a vast array of spirits to savor a weekend of bacon, BBQ and all the good things that come from old oak barrels. Enjoy healthy portions of your favorite bacon dishes while listening to live music, chatting with distillers and sipping delicious bourbons, whiskeys and more. If you're still thirsty after your 15 samples, a cash bar will be on-site with a variety of drinks available.

The fifth annual Nashville Whiskey Festival will feature a grand tasting event on Saturday, October 1. The 25th annual Nashville AIDS Walk & 5K Run raises money and awareness for the fight against HIV and AIDS. Registration begins at 9 am with free donuts, the community and business fair and Meghan Linsey (runner up on season eight of "The Voice") concert will start at 10 am, and the walk/run will kick off at 11 am. Plus, stick around for an awards ceremony around noon. Kids and dogs welcome at this event. More details, such as parking, will be given upon registration. This event benefits Nashville CARES. Please note: road closures associated with this event. The route begins and ends at Union Street and 2nd Avenue North, traveling across the river to surrounding Nissan Stadium streets. The final event of the library's hit music series this season! This concert will feature the musical talents of Marcela Pinilla. She'll bring exciting Latin rhythms to life with the influence of jazz and traditional Spanish guitar. With mandolinist Isaac Eicher, multi-percussionist Bryan Brock, and Yosvany Cordero on bata drums and bongos, The Marcela Pinilla Band has a dynamic, versatile and joyful quality of its own.

Grammy-winning artists Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will receive stars on the Music City Walk of Fame during an induction ceremony on Wednesday, October 5 at 11:30 am in Walk of Fame Park. They will receive the 73rd and 74th stars on the Walk of Fame. Inductees are recognized for their significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and for contributing to the world through song or other industry collaboration.
