AT&T Building. 333 Commerce Street. The restaurants change daily at this popup restaurant. Check out their website for the daily menus and calendar of which restaurants will be there. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 11 am - 2 pm.


New coffee shop: Lasaters Coffee & Tea!

Lunch & Learn: Fragile Fibers & Fabrics of Ancient Tennessee

This free event offers an examination of the perishable artifacts at the Tennessee State Museum with curator of Native American history Dr. Rex Weeks. The museum holds some of the most exquisite artifacts of ancient America. Many of these are not on display, so this is your chance to learn about them from an expert. Join a virtual tour of some the perishable artifacts of the museum’s collection and see how each one reveals stories about our Native American predecessors. Bring your lunch and enjoy a free lecture.

 

Curator's Tour: Women, Art and Social Change: The Newcomb Pottery Enterprise

Join Trinita Kennedy as she explores the largest presentation of Newcomb arts and crafts in more than 25 years and offers new insights into the Newcomb community’s enduring mark on American art and industry. "Women, Art and Social Change" is on view in the Upper-Level Galleries through November 6.

 

Vino on the Veranda

Vino on the Veranda is an annual wine tasting and silent auction. This year’s event will showcase more than 40 superior wine selections with food tastings in a beautiful location overlooking the Nashville skyline. Guests will enjoy a silent auction featuring events, travel, wine, and home and entertainment packages from a variety of local and national businesses.

Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company

This event brings the best improv comedians from the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade Theatres in New York and Los Angeles to new audiences all around the country. The UCB Theatre—founded by Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh—has been home to some of the biggest stars in comedy today. From TV shows like "Broad City," "Saturday Night Live," "Silicon Valley," "Veep" and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt," to films such as "Bridesmaids," "The Hangover" and "The Heat," its performers are everywhere. Not to mention they're in the writing rooms of "Key and Peele," "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart," "Inside Amy Schumer" and many more.

 

Music City Bacon & Barrel Festival

Celebrate two commonly appreciated Southern traditions: hearty food and distilled spirits. This event will bring together 25 of Nashville’s best restaurants and a vast array of spirits to savor a weekend of bacon, BBQ and all the good things that come from old oak barrels. Enjoy healthy portions of your favorite bacon dishes while listening to live music, chatting with distillers and sipping delicious bourbons, whiskeys and more. If you're still thirsty after your 15 samples, a cash bar will be on-site with a variety of drinks available.

 

Bellyrama Nashville 2016 Family Yoga Festival

Nashville Whiskey Festival

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 6:30 PM - 10 PM

The fifth annual Nashville Whiskey Festival will feature a grand tasting event on Saturday, October 1. The event will include approximately 60 distilleries pouring more than 300 of their finest bottles of whiskey, bourbon, scotch and rye from all over the world. Plus, live music, great food, educational seminars and more. VIP tickets include an extra hour of crowd-free tasting and exclusive product pours and swag.

 

First Saturday Art Crawl

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: 5TH AVENUE OF THE ARTS FREE

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Enjoy live music on the performance platform along 5th Avenue North by Ukedelics Band. Parnassus on Wheels, Peggy, will also be on-site. Plus, October is Artober in Nashville! Nashville AIDS Walk & 5K Run

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1, 9 AM - NOON
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE 5K RUN: $30 - $35; WALK: FREE

The 25th annual Nashville AIDS Walk & 5K Run raises money and awareness for the fight against HIV and AIDS. Registration begins at 9 am with free donuts, the community and business fair and Meghan Linsey (runner up on season eight of "The Voice") concert will start at 10 am, and the walk/run will kick off at 11 am. Plus, stick around for an awards ceremony around noon. Kids and dogs welcome at this event. More details, such as parking, will be given upon registration. This event benefits Nashville CARES. Please note: road closures associated with this event. The route begins and ends at Union Street and 2nd Avenue North, traveling across the river to surrounding Nissan Stadium streets. Courtyard Concerts: Marcela Pinilla Band

The final event of the library's hit music series this season! This concert will feature the musical talents of Marcela Pinilla. She'll bring exciting Latin rhythms to life with the influence of jazz and traditional Spanish guitar. With mandolinist Isaac Eicher, multi-percussionist Bryan Brock, and Yosvany Cordero on bata drums and bongos, The Marcela Pinilla Band has a dynamic, versatile and joyful quality of its own.

 

Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony with Faith Hill & Tim McGraw

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 5, 11:30 AM
LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK FREE

Grammy-winning artists Faith Hill and Tim McGraw will receive stars on the Music City Walk of Fame during an induction ceremony on Wednesday, October 5 at 11:30 am in Walk of Fame Park. They will receive the 73rd and 74th stars on the Walk of Fame. Inductees are recognized for their significant contributions to preserving the musical heritage of Nashville and for contributing to the world through song or other industry collaboration.

Downtown Employee Appreciation Week

Downtown Employee Appreciation Week is October 10 - 14, 2016 and several downtown restaurants, retailers, and other businesses are offering discounts and freebies to downtown employees all week long. If you work in downtown Nashville, be on the look out for offers from Juice Nashville, Puckett's, Dabble Studio, The Hermitage Hotel, and more! Ridesharing companies Lyft and Uber are also getting in on the action by offering discounted rides for downtown employees during the week. Click here for the complete list of discounts and freebies. 

Burn Calories, Not Gas

Get your heart pumping and take advantage of the lovely fall temperatures with Nashville B-cycle! There are over 250 bright red bikes located at 33 B-stations around Nashville. The $5 access pass includes an unlimited number of rides that are 60 minutes or less during a 24 hour period. The 7-day pass is only $10 and an annual membership is $50. TIP: keep all rides under 60 minutes to avoid overage fees. B-cycle has a responsive website and an app.
