New Restaurant: Sun Diner!

105 3rd Ave S. 615-742-9099. This 24-hour diner in SoBro showcases unique menu options that pay tribute to the legendary artists of Sun Records. Hours of operation: 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

 

New Bar and Restaurant: Decker & Dyer!

807 Clark Place. 615-248-2800. Located in The Westin Nashville, this lobby bar and restaurant features craft cocktails and live entertainment. Restaurant hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 6 am - 10 pm. Bar hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 11 am - 12 am.

 

New Rooftop Bar: L27!

807 Clark Place. 615-248-2800. L27, located in The Westin Nashville, is Nashville's highest rooftop bar to date and offers drinks, food, and live entertainment. Restaurant hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 11 am - 11 pm and Saturday - Sunday, 9 am - 11 pm. Bar hours of operation are Monday - Tuesday, 11 am - midnight, Wednesday - Friday, 11 am - 2 am, Saturday, 9 am - 2 am and Sunday, 9 am - midnight. Live music plays from 6 pm - close every night.

Street Food Thursdays

 

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North every Thursday through October. November through March, the event will take place every other Thursday. Please note: If the high is not above 40 degrees on the day of the event, the event will be canceled.

 

Artist Meet & Greet with Bill Steber

 

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27, 4 PM - 6 PM
LOCATION: THE ARTS COMPANY FREE

Don't miss your last chance to catch The Arts Company's exhibit "Bill Steber: Southern Blues Photography + Music," which features photography and music of the Mississippi Blues culture by Steber. As an added bonus, Steber will be on-site for an art talk about his Mississippi Blues photographs and to perform music inspired by that community on Thursday, October 27. Click here to RSVP. Vanderbilt’s Black & Gold Series

LOCATION: FIRST TENNESSEE PARK $5/GAME

First Tennessee Park will play host to Vanderbilt’s Black & Gold Series from Friday, October 28 to Sunday, October 30. The Commodores will play three intra-squad games at the home of the Sounds while Hawkins Field continues to be renovated. Friday night’s game is scheduled for 6 pm while each game on Saturday and Sunday will begin at 1 pm. Tickets for each game are $5 and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or the Sounds’ ticket office.

 

Music City Booyah

 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 7 PM - 2:30 AM
LOCATION: 12TH & PORTER $20 IN ADVANCE; $25 DAY OF EVENT (IF AVAILABLE)

Spend Halloween 2016 partying with Soulja Boy! Music City Booyah is Nashville’s premier Halloween block party at 12th & Porter and Grundy Street. The event will feature multiple stages, massive dance parties, a costume contest with more than $2,000 in cash and prizes, a glow room, 10 bars, drink specials, dancers, aerialists, an after-party and more! Performers include Soulja Boy, DJ Tanner and Uncle Jesse, Jung Youth, Spice-J and many more. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Grundy Street (12th Avenue North and 11th Avenue North) will be closed from noon on Friday, October 28 until 1 am on Saturday, October 29.

 

 

Battle for the Bones

 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28, 8 PM
LOCATION: MERCY LOUNGE $40 GENERAL ADMISSION; $100 VIP; $300 ALL-ACCESS VIP

Battle for the Bones will feature performances by Chase Rice, LoCash, Brett Young, Michael Tyler, Luke Combs and Craig Campbell. A portion of proceeds benefit the FTL Sarcoma Fund, which seeks to expand national sarcoma awareness and research. This fourth annual event takes place on three stages at Mercy Lounge, High Watt and Cannery Ballroom. VIP tickets include a separate viewing area, private bar and more. All-access VIP tickets include a separate viewing area, private bar, a meet and greet with select artists, and more.

 

Race 13.1

 

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 7:30 AM
LOCATION: BICENTENNIAL MALL 5K: $35; 10K: $45; HALF MARATHON: $89

Race 13.1 is returning to Music City for the second Halloween-themed Race 13.1 half marathon, 10K and 5K on Saturday, October 29! The course will feature many of the best parts of the city, including the historic Sulphur Dell area, Nashville Farmers' MarketFirst Tennessee Park, the Cumberland River Greenway and more. Plus, enjoy a post-race Halloween party with a costume contest (winner will take home $1,000). Please note: road closures associated with this event. The course begins and ends at Bicentennial Mall, traveling north of downtown. Downtown roads impacted include 3rd Avenue North - 7th Avenue North and Harrison Street. Closures along the course begin as early as 5:30 am and end as late as 10:30 am on Saturday, October 29. Halloween Bash

Wildhorse Saloon will host a Halloween bash on Saturday, October 29 that will feature great live music, drink specials and a costume contest (first place: $200, second place: $100, third place: $50).

On Saturday, October 29, Acme Feed & Seed will host a "Stranger Things"-inspired Halloween party with the Demogorgon, Christmas lights, Benny’s Burgers, BARB (well, maybe). Your ticket gets you access to all three floors at Acme as well as the rooftop. Acme's Halloween event always sells out, so be sure to get your tickets in advance.

Tin Roof Broadway will host its third annual Halloween party that will feature a costume contest (first place: Apple watch, second place: Titans tickets, third place: $150 Tin Roof gift certificate), a DJ, drink specials and more.

 

Open Streets Nashville

 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2 PM - 6 PM

The second annual Open Streets Nashville is a movement to activate people, strengthen businesses and inspire public spaces by temporarily closing streets to cars. The festival will close down 2.3 miles along 12th Avenue South. The event will kick off at 2 pm with a Halloween-themed parade and continue until 6 pm. You're invited to walk, bike, skate and play in the streets at this fun, free and family-friendly event. Businesses in this area will expand into the street featuring activities and specials. Plus, there will be plenty of booths and tents set up with games, live music and activities. Phantom of the Opera

It's the ultimate Halloween night of chills and thrills with this screening of the 1925 silent movie classic, accompanied by the breathtaking, seat-shaking sound of the Schermerhorn’s Martin Foundation Concert Organ. Starring Lon Chaney in the title role, "Phantom of the Opera" remains one of the scariest movies ever made, and organist Peter Krasinski will bring it vividly to life. Come in costume!

 

 

2016 CMA Awards
