New Parking Garage: 5th and Church Garage!

147 5th Avenue N. 615-736-5569. Managed by SP+.
This new parking garage is partially open and is offering a "Construction Special" on monthly parking for $110/month. The upper levels of the garage are still under construction and the elevator is not yet operational, but should be running by the end of November. New Location: Mike's Ice Cream & Coffee Bar!

129 2nd Avenue N. 615-742-6453. Come visit Mike's Ice Cream at their new 2nd Ave N. location for unique handmade ice cream, coffee and more! Hours of operation are Sunday - Thursday, 8 am - 11 pm and Friday - Saturday, 8 am - midnight.

 

New Restaurant: The Marsh House!

401 11th Avenue S. 615-262-6001. Located at the Thompson Nashville Hotel, this Southern seafood restaurant offers responsibly sourced and sustainable menu items, an extensive wine list and a cocktail program that rotates seasonally. Hours of operation are Monday - Sunday, 7:30 am - 10 am; 11 am - 3 pm; and 5 pm - 10 pm. On Friday and Saturday, the kitchen is open until 11 pm.

 

New Restaurant: Del Frisco's Grille!

1201 Demonbreun St. 615-742-5503. This new restaurant located in The Gulch features a diverse menu of American-inspired cuisine. Hours of operation are Monday - Thursday, 11 am - 10 pm; Friday - Saturday, 11 am - 11 pm; and Sunday, 10 am - 9 pm.

2016 CMA Awards

Country superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will team up for the ninth time to host the 50th Annual CMA Awards, country's most anticipated show of the year. Eric Church, Maren Morris and Chris Stapleton top the list of nominees this year. Please note: road closures associated with this event are listed below. 

 

Road Closures: 2016 CMA Awards

THROUGH FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4

Several road closures are planned throughout downtown for the 2016 CMA Awards, which is on Wednesday, November 2. This list is organized by the date the closures begin. The end date is different for each road and is indicated below. Most roads are closed for multiple days. All closures will be lifted by 4 pm on Friday, November 4. Sunday, October 30:
- 6th Avenue South (Broadway to Demonbreun) will be closed from 6 am on Sunday, October 30 until 5 pm on Thursday, November 3
- 5th Avenue South (Broadway to Demonbreun) will be closed from 6 am on Sunday, October 30 until 6 am on Thursday, November 3
- 5th Avenue South (Demonbreun to the southbound lane of Korean Veterans Boulevard) will be closed from 4 pm on Sunday, October 30 until 4 pm on Friday, November 4
- One westbound lane of Demonbreun (5th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South) will be closed from noon on Sunday, October 30 until 2 am on Thursday, November 3

Wednesday, November 2:
- 5th Avenue South (Korean Veterans Boulevard to Demonbreun) will be closed from 6 am on Wednesday, November 2 until 6 am on Thursday, November 3
- 6th Avenue South (Korean Veterans Boulevard to Demonbreun) will be closed from 6 am on Wednesday, November 2 until 2 am on Thursday, November 3
- Demonbreun (4th Avenue South to 8th Avenue South) will be closed from 6 am on Wednesday, November 2 until 2 am on Thursday, November 3

Street Food Thursdays

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North! This event will take place every other Thursday November through March. Please note: If the high is not above 40 degrees on the day of the event, the event will be canceled.

 

Mozart & Tchaikovsky

LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $22 - $143

This program matches celebrated Russian conductor Vassily Sinaisky with a Russian masterwork, Tchaikovsky's Manfred Symphony. Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 is one of his few minor-key concertos, written while he was at a creative peak. Celebrated for his unique approach, probing intellect and consummate artistry, piano soloist Inon Barnatan (pictured above) makes his Nashville Symphony debut. Barber's quietly moving Essay No. 2 was one of the featured works at Schermerhorn Symphony Center's gala opening concert.

 

Wanderlust 108

Wanderlust 108 is a triathlon unlike any you’ve ever known. This "mindful triathlon" brings three events together: a 5K, an outdoor yoga experience and a guided meditation—but with a twist. Unlike most triathlons, this one places community above competition, inner peace above power and self-awareness above strength. From DJs on the main stage to lawn activities like hooping, slacklining and acroyoga, to local food and craft vendors, there’s plenty to do when you’re not on your mat. Nationally recognized teachers, speakers and musical talent are also featured to make for a fun-filled day. Bacon and Beer Classic

 

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 1 PM
LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM $59 GENERAL ADMISSION; $75 EARLY ACCESS; $99 VIP

Explore Nissan Stadium and indulge in unlimited bacon and beer. Sample 80+ craft beers from Southern breweries, eat 30+ bacon-infused dishes from local chefs, play giant Jenga, battle it out on the bungee run, compete in the Hormel bacon eating contest and much more! Free Family Festival Day

This free Family Festival Day will celebrate the cultural and historical aspects of the new exhibit "Samurai: The Way of the Warrior." Enjoy unique gallery experiences, fun art-making activities and exciting performances. First Saturday Art Crawl

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Enjoy live music on the performance platform along 5th Avenue North. Good Makers Market

The Nashville Entrepreneur Center and Nashville's Social Enterprise Alliance chapter have partnered to present Good Makers Market in an effort to support local entrepreneurs with a focus on social innovation. This unique Nashville marketplace ensures that guests have the opportunity to make a difference in the world with every purchase made, creating a city of conscious consumers. Local social purpose businesses will set up their goods in a marketplace alongside local food trucks, exhibits and live music. Start your holiday shopping while supporting great causes.

 

2016 Yazoo "Barely a 4K" Beer Run

 

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 11 AM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $45 - $80

Runners will run through the concourses, lobbies, past the ice and through VIP sections of Bridgestone Arena. The race will end at Tavern '96, where the bar will be open and the beer will be flowing. Barrel House and the Nashville Predators Team Store will also be open for this event, so feel free to have a true Sunday Funday with sports on the TVs, a little team spirit shopping and some lunch. Your package price includes free beer, an amazing Yazoo/Preds gift, one ticket to an upcoming Preds home game (as well as the ability to order additional tickets and/or upgrade seating), raffle drawings and a unique way to tour the arena.

 

LGBT Chamber presents Taste 2016

The Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce presents the fifth annual Taste event. Get a taste of the culinary skills of some of Nashville's most talented chefs and finest restaurants. A variety of local breweries, wineries and distilleries will be serving up drinks on-site. Plus, live music and a silent auction. All tickets come with unlimited tastes of food and non-alcoholic beverages. General admission tickets include one sample from each alcoholic beverage vendor.
