Last weekend: Nashville Predators’ Smashville Outdoor Rink

THROUGH MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20; MONDAY - FRIDAY: 4 PM - 10 PM; SATURDAY - SUNDAY: NOON - 10 PM
LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK $15 ADULTS; $10 CHILDREN

This is the last weekend of the Nashville Predators’ Smashville Outdoor Rink! Rink hours are 4 pm - 10 pm Monday - Friday and noon - 10 pm on weekends, with extended holiday hours throughout the season. Public skate sessions are $15 for adults and $10 for children and include skate rental (you can also bring your own skates). The last day of operation is Monday, February 20.

 

Night Market

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 5 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

Relax and unwind at Night Market, a monthly event that takes place on the third Friday at the Nashville Farmers' Market! Enjoy live music, seasonal cocktails, wine, craft beer, local artisan booths, plenty of dinner options from Market restaurants, activities for families and more. Plus, each month features different special events and featured artisans.

 

Wild Turkey Master Distiller Tasting & Signing

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17, NOON - 2 PM
LOCATION: FRUGAL MACDOOGAL WAREHOUSE FREE

Dubbed the “Buddha of Bourbon” and “The Master Distiller’s Master Distiller” by his industry peers, James C. “Jimmy” Russell knows bourbon like he knows breathing. For an astounding 60 years, Russell has been making whiskey at the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, and today is the longest-tenured active spirits master distiller in the world. Russell will be at Frugal MacDoogal on Friday, February 17 for a tasting and signing.

 

2017 LEGO Contest

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18 - SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 19, SATURDAY: 2 PM - 5 PM; SUNDAY: 2 PM - 4 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

View all of the 2017 LEGO contest entries at the Nashville Public Library on Saturday, February 18 and Sunday, February 19. This annual contest allows participants of all ages to use their skills to build their most creative LEGO designs. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at 3 pm.

 

Hiding in Plain Sight Opening Reception

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 3 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY FREE

Nashvillians can experience a new exhibit, “Hiding in Plain Sight: Portraits of Nashville’s Elusive Past,” beginning Saturday, February 18 at Nashville Public Library. The exhibit sheds a new light on local places residents might consider “ordinary”—until they learn about notable things that happened there. “Hiding in Plain Sight” opens with a reception on February 18 from 3 pm - 5 pm in the Courtyard Gallery on the second floor of the library. The exhibit will run until June 18.

 

Cupid's Undie Run

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, RACE BEGINS: 2 PM
LOCATION: DICK'S LAST RESORT $35

Put the hilarity in charity with hundreds of Cupid's Undie Run participants taking to the streets in celebration of fundraising for the Children’s Tumor Foundation. Festivities begin at noon and the one-mile fun run starts at 2 pm. Plus, the event will feature a costume contest, an awards celebration and a post-race party. Please note: road closure associated with this event. 2nd Avenue North (Commerce Street to Union Street) will be closed from approximately 1 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, February 18.

 

Fight for Air Climb

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 8 AM - 10 AM
LOCATION: FIFTH THIRD CENTER $35 REGISTRATION FEE; $100 FUNDRAISING MINIMUM

The American Lung Association in Tennessee is hosting its fifth annual Fight for Air Climb on Saturday, February 18 at the Fifth Third Center. This unique and signature competitive stair climb challenges you to complete the 29 floors of the building, all 638 steps. Through the climb, you will support its mission to fight to end lung disease and to climb for those who cannot. All of the proceeds support its local Nashville programs that assist with smoking cessation, asthma education, pulmonary research grants and local lung disease support.

 

Wine in the Winter

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 4 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: HILTON NASHVILLE DOWNTOWN $69 IN ADVANCE; $79 DAY OF EVENT

The second annual Wine in the Winter will be modeled after its sister event, Wine on the River. Attendees will be able to take a break from the cold and sample more than 30 wine, beer and spirits in a winter wonderland setting in the heart of downtown. Wine in the Winter was a sell out in 2016, so grab your tickets while they last.

 

Wine Women & Shoes

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 11 AM - 3 PM
LOCATION: RENAISSANCE NASHVILLE HOTEL $125

Make a date with your girlfriends at the fifth annual Wine Women & Shoes! Enjoy a day filled with exclusive shopping, wine tastings from wineries across the U.S., lunch and a musical performance by a special celebrity guest. You'll also have a chance to pull from the Wall of Wine, bid on the live and silent auction, choose a box from the Kendra Scott Jewelry Pull and check out the Key to the Closet, filled with thousands of dollars worth of luxury items. Proceeds support the YWCA's domestic violence services.

 

The Affair to Care

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 8 PM - MIDNIGHT
LOCATION: ROCKETOWN $70

The Southeastern Young Alumni Charitable Foundation presents this annual masquerade bash. Tickets are $70 and all-inclusive of live entertainment by Burning Las Vegas, heavy appetizers, an open bar, and a silent auction offering big-ticket items from Music City’s best hot spots and venues. All proceeds will be donated to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

 

Nashville Fashion Week Kick-off Party

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
LOCATION: THE HERMITAGE HOTEL $20

Join the Nashville Fashion Week 2017 Kick-off Party on Monday, February 20 from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm at The Hermitage Hotel Ballroom. Guests will enjoy wine provided by Mouton Noir and light bites. Nashville Fashion Week returns for the seventh consecutive year April 4-8. All proceeds from Nashville Fashion Week benefit the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, which supports the next generation of fashion industry professionals with ties to Middle Tennessee by providing financial awards and resources.

 

The Rite of Spring

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23 - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, THURSDAY: 7 PM; FRIDAY & SATURDAY: 8 PM
LOCATION: SCHERMERHORN SYMPHONY CENTER $22 - $143

The Nashville Symphony performs Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring" for the first time ever at Schermerhorn Symphony Center. One of the most revolutionary pieces in the classical repertoire, "Rite" still sounds as edgy and exciting as it did when it caused a riot in Paris 100 years ago. The opening of "Rite" features the most famous bassoon solo in the repertoire, performed here by the Nashville Symphony’s new principal bassoonist, Julia Harguindey. "Rite" will be complemented by works by Terry Riley and Buxtehude.
