New massage therapist: Music City Therapeutic Massage!
162 4th Avenue North #104. 512-731-0890. This new massage option offers clinical massage, relaxation massage, cupping/stretching and foot & calf massage. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 9:30 am - 6:30 pm and Saturday, 12:30 pm - 4 pm. Appointments are required and can be made online.
 

New wedding dress shop: Arzelle's Bridal Chic!
819 2nd Avenue South. 615-327-1020. This bridal shop relocated from West End to downtown. They specialize in wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and mother-of-the-bride dresses. They also sell rehearsal dinner dresses and bridal shower dresses and have menswear options. Hours of operation are Tuesday - Friday, 10 am - 6 pm and Saturday, 10 am - 4:00 pm. Bridal appointments are required.
 

New boot shop: Nashville Boot Co.
603 8th Avenue South. 615-353-9838. This new shopping option in The Gulch offers a variety of brands including Dan Post, Lucchese, Tony Lama, Ariat, Durango, Abilene, Boulet, and Frye. Hours of operation are Monday - Saturday, 9:30 am - 5:30 pm.

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North! This event will take place every other Thursday November through March. 

 

Pairings: Nashville's Ultimate Wine & Food Weekend

Nashville Wine Auction is hosting its annual Pairings: Nashville’s Ultimate Wine and Food Weekend. Pairings celebrates the notion that exceptional wine elevates delicious food and that delicious food can elevate an exceptional wine. City Winery will host Pairings Gourmet Dinner and Live Auction on February 25. 

 

Johnny Cash Birthday Celebration

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25
LOCATION: THE JOHNNY CASH MUSEUM FREE (RSVP REQUIRED)

The Johnny Cash Museum will host their annual Johnny Cash Birthday Bash on Saturday, February 25! Fans will be treated to appearances by Johnny Cash's family members and former band mates in a series of events to celebrate the late singer's 85th birthday. Mardi Gras Bar Crawl

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: POUR HOUSE NASHVILLE: BURGERS, BOURBON AND BREWS $20

Celebrate Mardi Gras with a special Nashville bar crawl! The crawl begins at Pour House Nashville. Tickets include gift cards, drink specials, no cover, a scavenger hunt for prizes, themed giveaways and much more. Registration is from 2 pm - 4 pm at Pour House, and then moves on to the next locations on the crawl.

 

CSA Fair

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 10 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

Join Nashville Farmers' Market for the third annual CSA Fair to learn how you can support local agriculture this year while also eating delicious local food. This free event offers you a chance to meet local farmers, discuss growing methods, learn harvest schedules, pick-up locations, and access general information on what a CSA program is and how it supports our local agriculture. Plus, there will be food trucks and 14 locally owned restaurants inside the Market House. Enjoy locally crafted beer at The Picnic Tap, or seasonal cocktails and Tennessee wine at the cash bar. You can also catch chef demonstrations in the Edible Kitchen and live music all day.

 

Family Program: The Three Little Pigs

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 10 AM - 10:45 AM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM FREE

‚ÄčNashville Opera ON TOUR presents John Davies' "The Three Little Pigs," a fun, operatic retelling of the classic children’s fairytale. The three little pigs (Giovanni, Despina and Cherubino) are all grown up and must now build their own houses. The first disastrous attempts land them in direct contact with the infamous Wolfgang Big Bad! By working together—and using good reference materials—the pigs are able to outwit the villain. With an emphasis on literacy, this family-friendly production teaches children the importance of teamwork and that with the right book, any challenge can be overcome.

 

Nashville Predators Fangtastic 5K Run/Walk

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 10 AM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $50 - $100

This annual 5K takes runners and walkers through downtown Nashville and the surrounding area, beginning and ending at Bridgestone Arena. The entry fee includes a 5K T-shirt, one voucher for half off your first post-race drink at Tavern ‘96, and two upper or lower level tickets to the Nashville Predators vs. Edmonton Oilers game on Sunday, February 26 at 4 pm. Registered runners also have the option of adding additional upper level tickets for $25 each, or upgrading to the lower bowl for an additional $50 per ticket. Please note: road closures associated with this event:

- Demonbreun (5th Avenue South to 6th Avenue South) will be closed from 7 am until as late as noon on Saturday, February 25
- 5th Avenue South (Broadway to Demonbreun) will be closed from 7 am until as late as noon on Saturday, February 25
- Demonbreun (6th Avenue South running west out of downtown) will be closed from approximately 10 am until 11 am on Saturday, February 25

Cochon555

Cochon555 is an epic culinary adventure centered on 1,500 pounds of heritage breed pork. At the center of Cochon555 is a culinary championship featuring five chefs cooking five whole, heritage breed pigs with innovative techniques and bold flavor profiles. Guests can expect thoughtfully crafted bites from the chefs, along with sommeliers who will face-off with pork-meets-wine pairings as well as barkeeps competing in a cocktail punch mix-off. Plus, you can kick off the weekend with Chef’s Course, a one-of-a-kind, five-course dining experience at Adele’s on Saturday, February 25.

 

Jazz on the Move

 

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 26, 3 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

The Nashville Jazz Workshop, in collaboration with the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, presents the 11th season of the popular jazz performance and education series Jazz on the Move. Each installment features a lecture and performance highlighting a major figure or period in jazz history. Presented by Nashville’s top jazz artists/educators, the series offers audiences world-class music as well as an opportunity to learn more about jazz. This year has a bit of a birthday theme, as three jazz legends—Dizzy, Monk and Lena—would be celebrating their 100th birthdays in 2017. In February, Black History Month, MTSU Jazz Studies Professor Jamey Simmons will lead an all-star ensemble to perform the music of jazz icon Dizzy Gillespie.

 

Our Kids Soup Sunday

Grab your spoon for the 24th annual Our Kids Soup Sunday. This grand tasting event features delicious soups from more than 50 local restaurants. Participating downtown restaurants and vendors include B&C Market BBQThe Bell TowerThe Bridge BuildingFleet Street Pub, Renaissance Nashville HotelSambucaTrattoria Il Mulino and Watermark. Plus, enjoy children's activities like face painters and balloon artists, a silent auction, celebrity and culinary judges, sweet treats and more. The event will be held inside Nissan Stadium's Club Level West.

 

Fat Tuesday Celebration

Mardis Gras season has begun, and Bourbon Street Blues & Boogie Bar's annual Fat Tuesday celebration is right around the corner! Their bash will include a crawfish boil, face painting, a photo booth, hurricane buckets, giveaways and more. Plus, the Stacy Mitchhart Band will be performing all night long.
