New museum: Patsy Cline Museum!
119 3rd Avenue South, 2nd Floor. 615-454-4722. This new museum is located above the Johnny Cash Museum in SoBro. The museum celebrates the life of Patsy Cline and features hundreds of artifacts, personal belongings, videos and more. The museum also has a gift shop. Hours of operation for the museum and store are Monday - Sunday, 9 am - 7 pm.

Holy Week at Christ Church Cathedral

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12 - SUNDAY, APRIL 16, TIME VARIES BY DATE
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL FREE

Holy Week services include Tenebrae on Wednesday at 7 pm, Maundy Thursday Holy Eucharist with foot-washing and stripping of the altar at 6 pm and Good Friday service at noon (nave open for prayer from 1 pm - 3 pm). Plus, Holy Saturday offerings include liturgy at 10 am and Great Vigil of Easter service at 7 pm. Christ Church Cathedral will offer Easter Sunday Holy Eucharist services at 7 am, 8:30 am and 11 am. Or, attend a Sunday evening liturgy, Breaking Bread, at 6 pm.

 

Street Food Thursdays

Holy Week at First Lutheran Church ELCA

First Lutheran Church will offer a Maundy Thursday service at 7 pm and Good Friday worship services at noon and 7 pm. On Saturday, you can decorate the Easter cross beginning at 9 am. Easter Sunday's schedule includes worship at 8:15 am and 10:30 am, as well as an Easter breakfast at 9 am. Free parking is provided in the lot at the corner of 8th Avenue South and McGavock Street.

Downtown Presbyterian Church's Holy Week schedule includes Maundy Thursday service at 7 pm. Nashville Scene's 10th Annual Iron Fork

Off to War: Tennessee Soldiers in the First World War

Her talk will also consider how these Tennesseans are remembered both at home and abroad, ensuring that General John J. Pershing’s words ring true: “Time will not dim the glory of their deeds.”

 

Curator’s Tour: Secrets of Buddhist Art

LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS GALLERY ADMISSION REQUIRED

Tibet, Japan and Korea all practice a form of esoteric or “secret” Buddhism. Called Vajrayana Buddhism, this form utilizes works of art that reveal a complex array of both human and divine figures. Join coordinating curator Katie Delmez to discover the powerful meanings behind their arresting visuals. This program is held in conjunction with "Secrets of Buddhist Art: Tibet, Japan and Korea."

Downtown Home Tour

Our annual downtown home tour is next weekend (Sunday, April 23)! Nine residential buildings are featured including private residences, condos for sale and apartments for rent. Tour tickets are on sale now and are $10 (ages 17 and under are free). Check out this video that showcases a few locations on this year's tour.

Music City Circuit

Getting around downtown is easy! Hop a ride to the Nashville Farmers' Market for lunch or to shop, catch happy hour in The Gulch, see the newest exhibit at the Frist, attend a concert at the Ryman, check out an art gallery, attend a Preds game ... the possibilities are endless. Music City Circuit makes it easy to travel to destinations around downtown! Click here for the route map. The best part? This service is free. Mobile apps, including Transit, will help you track the location of the Circuit, as well.
