New restaurant: Sea Salt!
209 3rd Avenue N. 615-891-2221. This new restaurant features French-inspired American fare. Check out their dinner menu. Currently the restaurant is only open for dinner, however lunch and happy hour will begin soon on Monday, May 1. Beginning May 1 hours of operation will be Monday - Thursday, 11 am - 10 pm; Friday, 11 am - 11 pm; Saturday, 4 pm - 11 pm and Sunday, 4 pm - 9 pm.

21c Museum Hotel Nashville. 221 2nd Avenue N. 615-610-6400. This new restaurant located at the soon-to-open 21c Museum Hotel features an eclectic and seasonal menu. Currently only open for dinner, this restaurant will be open for breakfast and lunch once the hotel officially opens. Current hours of operation are Sunday - Thursday, 5:30 pm - 10 pm (bar stays open until midnight) and Friday - Saturday, 5:30 pm - 11 pm (bar stays open until 1 am).

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North! This event takes place every Thursday. Please note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (4th Avenue North to 5th Avenue North) will be closed from 9 am until 2 pm on the day of the event.

 

YWCA’s Stand Against Racism

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 27, NOON - 1 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

The YWCA’s Stand Against Racism is a movement that seeks to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities. This year’s theme is "Women of Color Leading Change." The Metro Human Relations Commission and Tennessee Human Rights Commission are co-sponsoring the event. Speakers include Belmont University’s Joyce Searcy, Civil Rights Attorney Abby Rubenfeld, Nashville Mayor Megan Barry and YWCA President & CEO Sharon K. Roberson.  

 

Walk of Fame Induction Ceremony with Amy Grant & Martha Ingram

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 1 PM
LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK FREE

The Music City Walk of Fame on Nashville's Music Mile is a landmark tribute to those from all genres of music who have contributed to the world through song or other industry collaboration and made a significant contribution to the music industry with connection to Music City. Grammy-winning artist Amy Grant and renowned Nashville philanthropist Martha Ingram will receive stars on the Music City Walk of Fame during an induction ceremony on Thursday, April 27 at 1 pm at Walk of Fame Park. The induction ceremony is free and open to the public.

 

Mozart & Rachmaninoff

Hear two classic symphonic works by Mozart and Rachmaninoff, led by one of the world's most esteemed conductors, Edo de Waart. Originally written as a serenade, Mozart's Symphony No. 35 is a festive work with an exhilarating mood. Full of gorgeous melodies, Rachmaninoff's Third Symphony encompasses moments of nostaligia and optimism, with the composer's distinctly Russian sensibilities. American composer Michael Ippolito's colorful "Nocturne" is inspired by the art of Joan Miró.

 

Preds Celebration on the Plaza

LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA FREE TO ATTEND

The Preds Celebration on the Plaza features a big screen, food, beverages and more. Cheer on the Preds as they take on the Blues on the road in St. Louis in round two of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The party starts on the Bridgestone Arena plaza at 6:30 pm, half an hour before the puck drops. You can also cheer on the Preds at Tavern ’96 outside the SoBro entrance and enjoy Happy Hour beer pricing through the end of the game!

 

Rock 'n' Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon

 

SATURDAY, APRIL 29, 5K: 6:15 AM; MARATHON & 1/2 MARATHON: 6:45 AM

The St. Jude Rock ‘n’ Roll Nashville Marathon & 1/2 Marathon runs through Nashville on Saturday, April 29 beginning at 8th Avenue and Broadway and ending at Nissan Stadium. The race will feature live music at every mile and a fantastic finish line festival to be capped off by a post-race concert featuring The Band Perry at Ascend Amphitheater at 7 pm. Find a spot downtown to cheer on the runners! Or, sign up for the 3.1-mile mini-marathon ($75). Plus, other race events include the Health and Fitness Expo at Music City Center Thursday, April 27 - Friday, April 28, a 1-mile run on Thursday, April 27 beginning at 4th Avenue North and Deaderick Street ($39) and the Kids Rock Run on Sunday, April 30 at Nissan Stadium ($35). NOTE: Start times for the Saturday races have been moved up due to the anticipated hot weather conditions. Road closures associated with the marathon and its related events. Click here for a full list of downtown road closures with close and re-open times. ARRIVAL TIPS: Avoid some of the race day traffic by taking a special Music City Star excursion train for $12. Or, take Nashville B-cycle. The closest B-cycle station to the starting line is at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts (9th Avenue South & Demonbreun Street).

 

Nashville Predators vs. St. Louis Blues Playoffs

In support of NPL's Children's Programming, the Picnic with the Library offers families an afternoon of picnic-style food, drinks, fun and entertainment in the beautiful Robinson Courtyard and newly-remodeled Children's Department at the Main Library. Activities include exclusive puppet performances by Wishing Chair Productions, music, crafts, face painting, a photo booth and more.
