TDOT's Interstate 24 Bridge Rehabilitation begins this weekend! I-24 will be closed from the I-40 split east of downtown Nashville to the I-65 split north of downtown Nashville. Traffic will be diverted onto I-65 and I-40. During the closures, drivers should expect congestion on the interstates around downtown Nashville, as well as local routes in the East Nashville area. Closures will begin Friday, September 29 at 8 pm and end Monday, October 2 at 6 am. Detours and more info can be found on the this website.
New restaurant and gelato shop: Milk & Honey!

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North! This event takes place every Thursday. Please note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (4th Avenue North to 5th Avenue North) will be closed from 9 am - 2 pm on the day of the event.
Join Nashville Public Television (NPT) on Thursday, September 28 for a free preview screening of "Poldark" season three in the Frist Center's auditorium. NPT will screen the first hour of the new season from 6 pm - 7 pm. Guests may also pose for pictures with a life-size cutout of Ross Poldark! This event is free, but RSVPs are requested. The Frist will offer free gallery admission and $5 parking in the visitor lot will be available with validation. The museum's cafe will be open for those who want a glass of wine or a light meal before or after the screening. The cafe will also have live music from 6 pm - 8 pm. "Poldark" season three begins with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, October 1.

Le Creuset, maker of the world's most trusted and treasured premium cookware, will present the second ever Factory to Table sales event in Nashville. This event will feature special discounts on a large selection of Le Creuset products from around the world, including colors and shapes rarely seen in the American marketplace. All categories will be represented including cast iron, stoneware, enamel on steel, stainless steel, tools and other accessories. The sale event kicks off Thursday with a special VIP preview shopping event. The preview, which is offered to the public at a premium ticket price of $25, grants early access to the floor products and sales, live music, tasty bites and sips to fuel shoppers, and special live demos from four of Nashville’s top chefs. Tickets are $10 for Friday and Saturday and free of charge Sunday with the donation of a pantry item. All ticket sales will go directly to local charities in the area supporting The Nashville Food Project and Second Harvest Food Bank.

On the heels of a No. 1 album, a chart-topping radio hit and a sold out first leg of a global tour, the hometown rock band Kings of Leon will play the first-ever concert at Nashville's First Tennessee Park, the home of the Nashville Sounds, on Friday, September 29. Dawes will open the show.
Celebrate two commonly appreciated Southern traditions: hearty food and distilled spirits at the Nashville Farmers' Market. The event will bring together 25 of Nashville's best restaurants and a vast array of spirits to savor a weekend of bacon, BBQ and all the good things that come from old oak barrels. Enjoy healthy portions of unique and delicious bacon dishes while listening to live music, chatting with distillers and sipping fine bourbons, whiskeys and more. If you're still thirsty after your 15 samples, they'll also have a cash bar with a variety of drinks available.

The JDRF One Walk is a way for attendees to show support for those living with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and raise funds for JDRF, the leading global organization focused on T1D research. Registration and fun kicks off at 8 am, and the 1-mile walk (beginning and ending at Bicentennial Mall) starts at 10 am. Please note: road closures associated with this event. 6th Avenue North (Harrison Street to Jefferson Street), westbound lane of Harrison Street (6th Avenue North to 7th Avenue North) and 7th Avenue North (Harrison Street to Jefferson Street) will be closed from 8 am - 11 am on Saturday, September 30.

In recognition of National Public Lands Day, Tennessee State Parks and State Natural Areas invite the public to take part in ranger-led hikes, volunteer projects and interpretive programs at all 56 state parks on Saturday, September 30. Join at Bicentennial Mall for the beautification of the Visitor Center on National Public Lands Day! Volunteers will be removing old and dead vegetation from around the Visitors Center in preparation for replanting later in the fall. Meet at the Visitors Center at 9 am. Water and tools provided. Bring gloves and dress for the weather.

The American Red Cross and the Nashville Predators are calling all of Smashville to roll up a sleeve to help patients in need by giving blood during the preseason matchup between the Preds and the Tampa Bay Lightning. The 9th annual Nashville Predators Blood Drive will be held Saturday, September 30 from 4 pm - 8 pm at Bridgestone Arena in the Corporate Reception Room. All donors will receive a free commemorative Predators T-shirt, while supplies last, and a coupon for a free Sport Clips haircut via email after their donation.

Skate of the Union will feature a Q&A session hosted by members of the Nashville Predators Broadcast Team. Fans will hear from team executives and players as they talk about the greatest roster the Nashville Predators have ever assembled. Fans will learn more about building enhancements, upgrades to the fan experience and exciting new broadcast features, all of which were put in place for the fans and by the fans, to make Smashville the greatest it has ever been. All fans in attendance will enjoy concessions, inflatables, and visits from GNASH and the Energy Team! Skate of the Union will take place before the preseason matchup between the Preds and the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7 pm.

Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 is one of the most frequently played symphonies of all time, and with good reason. The symphony and its four-note opening motif are known worldwide, appearing frequently in popular culture. To fully appreciate this amazing piece of music, you have to hear Beethoven's Fifth in person, performed by a top-notch orchestra—and this will be your chance. Plus, the Nashville Symphony will record Christopher Rouse's Symphony No. 5. Rouse is one of America's leading composers, and this live recording promises to be a truly unique experience. A phenomenally talented performer, Canadian-born violinist James Ehnes returns to solo on Britten’s Violin Concerto No. 1 to round out the evening.
This is a new lunch program series at Spark: Lipscomb’s Idea Center's recently opened downtown location. Have lunch and enjoy networking and interesting conversation. The New to Nashville lunch series is an hour-long free lunch and conversation with leaders in Nashville about the history, trends and issues facing our city. The fall lineup begins on Thursday, October 5 with historian David Ewing on "Historical Leaders Who Have Shaped Downtown Nashville." Register here.
