New restaurant - Luna Llena Taqueria!
300 James Robertson Parkway. 615-679-0346. This new restaurant near Music City Central and the Metro Courthouse serves breakfast and lunch. The lunch menu includes a variety of tacos, guacamole, cheese dip and more. Breakfast is served all day and includes scrambled egg options, omelettes, muffins, bagels and waffles. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 7 am - 2 pm; Saturday, 8 am - 2 pm; and Sunday, 9 am - 2 pm.

 

New restaurant - Viiza
417 Church Street. 615-532-8668. This restaurant located in the Viridian building serves pizza cones, salad, tea and other specialty drinks. Hours of operation are Monday - Thursday, 10 am - 7 pm and Friday - Saturday, 10 am - 10 pm.

LifeWay Christian Store Grand Opening

THROUGH SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 9 AM - 7 PM
LOCATION: LIFEWAY PLAZA FREE

LifeWay Christian Store will celebrate the opening of its new downtown store Monday, November 13 - Saturday, November 18 with special offers, giveaways, activities for families, refreshments and more. As an introduction to the new store, people who live or work downtown can receive a special discount of 40% off one regularly priced item through Saturday, November 25. Free garage parking will be available. LifeWay will also offer free Wi-Fi, seating for small community gatherings and a kids’ area designed for shared play.

 

Street Food Thursdays

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North! This event takes place every other Thursday. Please note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (4th Avenue North to 5th Avenue North) will be closed from 10 am - 2:30 pm on the day of the event.

 

Fresh Art Holiday Preview & Open House

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 17 - SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 11 AM - 5 PM
LOCATION: THE ARTS COMPANY

The Arts Company will jumpstart the holidays by hosting a Fresh Art Holiday Preview and Open House on Friday, November 17 and Saturday, November 18. Original limited-edition artist-made cards by selected gallery artists will be featured along with meeting and greeting the artists, complimentary champagne and an assortment of classic pop-up books. Guests will preview a broad range of new art by gallery artists as well as small handmade rugs for the holidays.

 

Night Market

Relax and unwind at Night Market, a monthly event that takes place on the third Friday at the Nashville Farmers' Market. Enjoy seasonal cocktails, wine, craft beer, local artisan booths, plenty of dinner options from Market restaurants, activities for families, eclectic music and more. Each month highlights different special events and featured artisans. This month, the Batch holiday marketplace will be open featuring products from local and regional artisans and will be offering new holiday products perfect for gift-giving this season.

Music City Yoga Festival

Music City Yoga Festival is an annual celebration of yoga in the Nashville area. For the fifth anniversary of this festival, they have another amazing lineup of local yoga instructors, live music, great vendors, food trucks and local businesses. This event is open to all ages and yoga levels. Music City Yoga Festival proceeds will support Small World Yoga, a Nashville nonprofit with a vision to make yoga accessible to more people in the Nashville community.

 

Sunset Cycle

An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends

Following the tremendous success of the inaugural event last year, nine-time Grammy Award winner Sheryl Crow will return to headline the musical stage for An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends for the second year in a row. The second annual Nashville ice show benefiting the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation will take place at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday, November 19. Co-hosted by special guest Peggy Fleming, this event will simultaneously feature live music and ice skating from Olympic, world and national champions Katia Gordeeva, Meryl Davis, Kurt Browning, Jeremy Abbott, Jeffrey Buttle, Kimmie Meissner, Michael Weiss, Alissa Czisny, Ryan Bradley, Steven Cousins, Sinead Kerr-Marshall and John Kerr, Kiira Korpi, and Kimberly Navarro and Brent Bommentre.

 

Tokens Show

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 7:30 PM

The Nashville Scene recognized the Tokens radio show as Nashville’s “best local variety show,” which is a “grass-kicking shredfest” that is a “huge success” with “genre-bending creativity.” The Tennessean calls it “one of a kind” and a “virtuouso ensemble.” The performance at Ryman Auditorium on Sunday, November 19 will feature Lee C. Camp, Matt Maher and friends.

 

Good Makers Market

LGBT Chamber presents TASTE

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 5 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM $90

The Nashville LGBT Chamber is presenting its sixth annual food and beverage tasting event, TASTE, on Sunday, November 19 in the West Club of Nissan Stadium with beautiful views of the Nashville skyline. More than 300 patrons will enjoy food and beverages from some of Nashville’s most creative tastemakers: talented chefs, fine restaurants and the best bartenders. Guests can bid on more than 100 diverse items in the silent auction and can dance with a local DJ next to the skyline. TASTE benefits the mission of the Nashville LGBT Chamber Foundation to educate, inspire and empower LGBT professionals who are looking to gain employment, climb the corporate ladder or build a small business. 

 

End Zone Luncheon

Breakdown the weekend NFL games with current and former NFL players and coaches! Nashville City Club is the exclusive Nashville venue for the End Zone Luncheon founded by Steven Israel, former 10-year NFL player. Downtown Employee Survey Results

We have released the results from the 2017 downtown employee survey. Almost 1,600 surveys were received from downtown employees. A few highlights: 84% of downtown employees drive alone and 63% of the people who work downtown live in Davidson County. The top positive attributes about working downtown are the energy and excitement, dining options, and central location. 97% of respondents find this newsletter, Downtown Details, informative. Give Real Change. Not Spare Change

We encourage you to give to community service providers in order to have a more lasting impact than giving to people who are panhandling. Check out these suggestions and redirect your generosity through time or money.
