Music City Thanksgiving Day 4 Miler

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 8 AM
LOCATION: NISSAN STADIUM $40 IN ADVANCE; $45 RACE DAY

This 6th annual race will begin and end at Nissan Stadium and go through the streets of downtown Nashville. Not only will participants enjoy an exhilarating holiday race, but they'll also bring joy to the lives of the less fortunate in Middle Tennessee. Proceeds support The Bridge, a local nonprofit that feeds the hungry in Nashville and brings awareness to hunger and homelessness.

Please note: road closures associated with this event on Thursday, November 23:

- South 2nd Street (Russell Street to Victory Avenue) closed from 5 am until as late as 10:30 am
- South 2nd Street in front of Nissan Stadium heading toward Russell Street closed from 8 am until as late as 10 am
- Russell Street to Interstate Drive closed from 8 am until as late as 10 am
- Interstate Drive to Shelby Avenue closed from 8 am until as late as 10 am
- Shelby Avenue, inside eastbound lane, over Korean War Veterans Memorial Bridge (traffic to flow in the center) closed from 8 am until as late as 10 am

Tree Lighting with Tracy Lawrence

Tracy Lawrence will help the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum kick off Deck the Hall 2017 with a free acoustic performance followed by the lighting of the tree in the Mike Curb Conservatory. After the tree lighting, Lawrence will sign copies of his new CD, "Good Ole Days," purchased from the Museum Store. The Hip Hop Nutcracker

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 3 PM AND 7 PM
LOCATION: TPAC - TENNESSEE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER $45 - $60

A holiday mash-up for the entire family, "The Hip Hop Nutcracker," a contemporary re-imagination of Tchaikovsky’s timeless music, sets out on a third national tour following the success of two previous sold-out tours. "The Hip Hop Nutcracker" is an evening-length production performed by a supercharged cast of a dozen all-star dancers, DJ and violinist. Through the spells cast by the mysterious Drosselmeyer, Maria-Clara and her Nutcracker prince, travel back in time to the moment when her parents first meet in a nightclub. Digital scenery transforms E.T.A. Hoffmann’s story of sugarplums into 1980s Brooklyn. "The Hip Hop Nutcracker" celebrates love, community and the magic of New Year’s Eve.

LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM FREE

​Children of all ages are invited to share their Christmas lists with Santa and pose for a free photo. Participants will also receive a commemorative photo holder designed by Hatch Show Print. This event takes place every Saturday and Sunday beginning November 25 through December 17 from 11 am - 2 pm.

Downtown Dental: Free Teeth Whitening with Second Harvest Food Bank Donations

THROUGH THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30, MONDAY - FRIDAY: 7 AM - 4:30 PM
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN DENTAL FREE

Downtown Dental’s annual Second Harvest Food Bank donation drive continues through Thursday, November 30. Patients can drop off 35 non-perishable items at the Downtown Dental office and receive free teeth whitening as a thank you for donation.

 

Free Frist Admission for Second Harvest Food Bank Donations

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 10 AM - 5:30 PM
LOCATION: FRIST CENTER FOR THE VISUAL ARTS FREE

The Frist Center will offer free admission on Mondays through Monday, December 18 to guests who bring non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Since 2012, Frist Center visitors have donated more than 20,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. The items most needed by Second Harvest are canned chicken, fruit, tuna, vegetables, cereal, pasta and peanut butter.
