New ice cream shop - Whit's Frozen Custard!
327 Union Street. 615-712-7160. This new ice cream shop serves up ice cream in a cup, cake cone, waffle cone or dipped waffle cone, plus sundaes, specialty mix-ins, banana splits and more. Mayor Megan Barry cordially invites you to attend the Metro Nashville Christmas Tree Lighting. This will be a fun, family-friendly event with fabulous music from special guests Amanda Shires and Jason Isbell. Meet Santa and mascots from the Nashville Predators and Nashville Sounds and enjoy performances by East Magnet High School Choir, Thomas Edison Elementary School Choir, the Glencliff High School Mariachi Band, and the Genesis and New Testament Choirs from The Temple Church. Union Street will be closed from approximately 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm on Friday, December 1 just in front of The Stahlman Building. Traffic will still flow eastbound from 1st Avenue North and 2nd Avenue North.
This festive fundraiser features a special screening of the classic holiday film "It’s a Wonderful Life" followed by a lively party with food, live music and wine pull, all to benefit a great cause. Enjoy an enjoyable evening raising money for families of children being treated for serious illness. Get your holiday season started in the spirit of giving! The Wonderful Life Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to ease the financial burdens encountered by families of children with cancer.

Get into the holiday spirit by joining the festivities downtown during the 64th annual Nashville Christmas Parade! Nashville Predators' veteran Mike Fisher will be this year's grand marshal. The parade will feature musical entertainment by almost 15 artists, including Honorary Music Marshals MercyMe, giant balloons and floats, marching bands and so much more. The parade, hosted by Piedmont Natural Gas, will benefit Piedmont's Share the Warmth program as well as the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. New this year, the parade will begin at Nissan Stadium and will travel along the Woodland Street Bridge, down 1st Avenue and then up Broadway past Bridgestone Arena.

Be a part of one of Nashville's favorite holiday traditions! Approximately 2,000 people will dress in their best holiday costumes and make their way along this 5K course to kick off the 64th annual Nashville Christmas Parade.
