New honky tonk: Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row!
400 Broadway. 629-203-7822. Dierks Bentley has opened his brand new multi-floor honky tonk on Lower Broadway. Live music plus lunch, dinner, brunch and amazing drinks. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 5 pm - 3 am and Saturday - Sunday, 10 am - 3 am.
 

New hotel and more: Noelle!
200 4th Avenue N. 615-649-5000. The Noel Building at the corner of 4th & Commerce has been re-imagined and turned into a 224-room experiential hotel in the heart of downtown Nashville. New businesses inside Noelle include their restaurant: Makeready Libations & Liberation; their bar: Trade Room; a coffee shop: Drug Store Coffee; and a boutique: Keep Shop.

Nashville House Concerts

THURSDAY, JANUARY 4, 7 PM
LOCATION: WAR MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM $25

Nashville House Concerts is a new music variety show at the historic War Memorial Auditorium in the heart of downtown Nashville. SiriusXM radio personality Storme Warren and country artist Joe Denim co-host this unique Nashville experience each month in their make-shift living room, featuring a diverse blend of talent from chart-topping artists, music legends, rising stars and accomplished songwriters. Every show promises musical performances, imaginative interviews and unpredictable fun. Nashville House Concerts take place on the first Thursday of each month from September 2017 to June 2018. This month will feature Ed Roland (of Collective Soul), Tim Montana, Love & Theft and Earl Bud Lee.

 

Monster Jam

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6 - SUNDAY, JANUARY 7, SATURDAY: 1 PM & 7 PM; SUNDAY: 2 PM
LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $20 - $95+

Monster Jam stars the biggest performers on four wheels—Monster Jam trucks! The 12-feet-tall, 10,000-pound machines will bring you to your feet, racing and ripping up a custom-designed track full of obstacles to soar over—or smash through. These colorful, larger-than-life beasts are sure to capture the hearts of both young and old.

 

Official Tennessee Titans Playoff Watch Party

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6, 2:30 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: THE GEORGE JONES RESTAURANT FREE

The Titans are in the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs at 3:35 pm on Saturday, January 6. Head to The George Jones on 2nd Avenue for the Official Titans Watch Party presented by Bud Light (for all ages). The George Jones entertainment venue offers a four-level bar with heated rooftop, live music, great food, surplus of TVs and Bud Light bucket specials specifically for the Titans playoff game. Fans can also visit the George Jones Museum, located on the second level, for a discounted price of $5 (regular entry price $17).

 

Hatch Show Print Block Party

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6, 6 PM - 8 PM
LOCATION: HATCH SHOW PRINT $40

Revel in the creative atmosphere of Hatch Show Print as you work with the shop’s image blocks and ink to create a design that you can hand-print onto paper, a tote bag or a T-shirt. No experience necessary. All materials provided, but you may bring your own T-shirt. The program is conducted by Hatch Show Print staff and will take place in its space in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Space is limited to 14 adults.

 

Opry at the Ryman: Carly Pearce, William Michael Morgan, Jerry Douglas & More

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6, 7 PM
LOCATION: RYMAN AUDITORIUM $40 - $99

Enjoy a special performance when The Grand Ole Opry is presented at the historic Ryman Auditorium. Unlike a typical concert, the Opry presents eight or more artists at each show giving the audience a sample of each artist's musical style. This show will feature Carly Pearce, William Michael Morgan, Jerry Douglas, John Schneider, Dick Hardwick, Bill Anderson, Riders in the Sky, Mike Snider, Jeannie Seely and more.

 

First Saturday Art Crawl

SATURDAY, JANUARY 6, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: 5TH AVENUE OF THE ARTS FREE

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Of special note this month, visit the pop-up gallery "Letters to the Mayor: Nashville" at the Nashville Civic Design Center and the alley running perpendicular to 21c Museum Hotel to view "Taking Flight" artwork based on the dancers of Nashville Ballet. Plus, be a part of the movement and post your pictures under these amazing walls: 144 5th Avenue North, 530 Church Street and 213 3rd Avenue North. Curator’s Tour: Nick Cave: Feat.

"Nick Cave: Feat." includes dynamic works in diverse mediums, from sculpture to video. While the engaging visuals may draw visitors to the exhibit, deeper conversations reveal how Cave delves into issues of identity, social justice and the expressive power of contemporary art. Join Katie Delmez, Frist Center curator, to take a deeper look at the meanings behind Cave’s work.
