Nashville Fashion Week

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4 - SUNDAY, APRIL 8

Nashville Fashion Week is a city-wide celebration of Nashville’s thriving fashion and retail community and its vast array of creative talent. Featuring local, regional and national designers and industry professionals in an array of creative events throughout the week, explore the city’s diverse fashion and retail spaces with promotions, partnerships and educational workshops. Nashville Fashion Week includes Shop Nashville Week featuring special events, trunk shows and deals throughout the city, including downtown retailers Third Man Records | Anna Sui and Keep Shop. Davis Cup Official Draw Ceremony

THURSDAY, APRIL 5, 1 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM $240 - $750

Members of the U.S. Davis Cup Team and Belgium Davis Cup Team, as well as special guests, will take part in the 2018 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Official Draw Ceremony to determine the match-ups for the Davis Cup World Group Quarterfinal between the U.S. and Belgium. This event will be open to the public and include a free pre-event concert by Two Story Road, the husband-wife duo of Brandon and Jamelle Fraley, who both attended Belmont.

 

Wade [Music for River and People]

THURSDAY, APRIL 5 - SUNDAY, APRIL 29
LOCATION: JOHN SEIGENTHALER PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE FREE

Interactive music composer Aaron Hoke Doenges, in partnership with Rivive! Nashville, will install his work Wade [Music for River and People] on the Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge April 5 - 29. For this piece, Doenges downloads live data about local rivers from the United States Geological Survey website and translates the information into music. At the same time, when people move across the bridge, these musical elements are altered to reflect the impact the people of Nashville have on local waterways. The project is funded in part by the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission. Free and open to the public. 

 

Preds Wine Festival & Tasting

Join the Nashville Predators Foundation for their 13th annual Wine Festival & Tasting on Thursday, April 5 over the ice at Bridgestone Arena. The festivities start at 6 pm and tickets are $75 per person. The festival features more than 225 higher-end wines, beer, a spirits tasting and an extensive silent auction.

Nashville Opera presents Susannah. An innocent young girl, falsely targeted by a whirlwind of rumor and lies, faces her accusers at the fire-and-brimstone revival meeting. Rooted in Appalachian music and set in rural East Tennessee, the folk-like Susannah surprisingly escalates to edge-of-your-seat intensity. Composed in 1955 at the height of McCarthy-era paranoia, Susannah—the ultimate American opera—is crushingly relevant today, exploring topics that once lived in the shadow of shame and euphemism.

First Saturday Art Crawl

Artist Talk with Jaq Belcher

Tinney Contemporary and host Paul Polycarpou, publisher of Nashville Art Magazine, are pleased to present White Noise -  New Work by Jaq Belcher. For her third solo show with the gallery, Belcher will return to Nashville to center her exhibition around a site/time specific floor drawing comprised of 144,00 hand cut paper seeds. Hear from the artist at 5 pm on Saturday, April 7.

 

Hammer Down Race

SATURDAY, APRIL 7, 7 AM

The 4th annual Hammer Down Run, including 1K, 5K and 10K races, will be held on Saturday, April 7. This race starts and finishes south of Cumberland Park and benefits the Our Kids' mission which provides expert medical evaluations and crisis counseling services in response to concerns of child sexual abuse, and to increase community awareness, conduct research and offer education and training about child maltreatment. Walk MS

19th Annual Ragin’ Cajun Crawfish Boil

This event is now called Street Eats and was formerly called Street Food Thursdays. Be Well at NPL: Spring Into Wellness: Juicing Basics

Downtown Home Tour

Our annual downtown home tour is next weekend (Sunday, April 15)! Nine residential buildings are featured including private residences, condos for sale and apartments for rent. Tour tickets are on sale now and are $10 (ages 17 and under are free). Check out this video to see what to expect when you attend our home tour. 

Cheap Parking Options

Park for only $5 weeknights after 6 pm and all day Saturday or Sunday at the Metro Courthouse Garage. Or, pay only $10 after 5 pm on weeknights or all day Saturday or Sunday at the Library Garage. It is hard to beat these rates! To find additional parking options based on location and price, please use our online parking map.

Convention Update

Large groups and events (500+) that are downtown April 4 - 18, 2018 are Southern States Communication Association (550, April 5 - 8), Southern Women's Show (26,000, April 5 - 8), Association of University Radiologists (600, April 9 - 12), American Retirement Association (1,400, April 15 - 17), and AAA 2018 (5,500, April 17 - 21). For more information concerning conventions, call 615-259-4782.
