A Night of Renewal is an annual event that raises money to support specialized addiction treatment for women and their children. Renewal House will host the event at Rocketown on Thursday, May 3 from 5:30 pm - 8 pm. This special evening includeS live entertainment, unique auction items, a pop-up marketplace and much-deserved pampering! Hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Join Preds fans inside Bridgestone Arena for Game 4! Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for Preds Season-Ticket Citizens with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Nashville Predators Foundation. Doors to the arena will open at 7 pm for Season-Ticket Citizens and at 7:30 pm for all other fans. Arrive two hours before the puck drops for a plaza party featuring photos with the Smash JET, face painters, a Preds merchandise tent and live music. All fans will receive a Gold Preds t-shirt.
Puckett's 5th & Church is showing its Preds pride by offering an "all you care to eat" special for $17 on their catfish platter on playoff game days, both home and away. Puckett's catfish is hand-breaded, fried golden brown and served with sweet potato fries and coleslaw.

Modern Masters brings the work of three internationally renowned choreographers together for a hand-selected program that shines a spotlight on some of the most innovative, spectacularly grand dance that’s come out of the ballet world. Christopher Wheeldon’s Ghosts draws inspiration from a lyrical score by Grammy-nominated composer and Nashville resident C.F. Kip Winger (of American rock band Winger), while wit and charisma take center stage in Jiří Kylián’s Six Dances set to Mozart’s Six German Dances. George Balanchine's masterwork Western Symphony caps off the evening with a rollicking journey to the rugged Old West. An enormous cast of cowboys and dance hall girls showcase Balanchine's blend of highly demanding, spirited and playful choreography, illustrating why he's known as the father of American ballet.
HEAL is a transformative space designed for individuals to deepen their listening, share their story, and live into their best self. Participants will have many opportunities to connect with themselves and others. HEAL stands for Helping Emotions Allow Listening, because sometimes our emotions stop us from connecting with others and ourselves. This space provides interactive tools to help individuals transform their lives.

Warm weather has arrived and that means Sanctuary for Yoga and Acme Feed & Seed are ready to bring back the rooftop Yoga Buzz series. Experienced, casual, and newbie yogis are all invited to enjoy a yoga class on Acme's sunny rooftop every first and third Saturday of the month at 10 am. After class, hang out on the rooftop to enjoy drink specials that enhance your post-yoga glow, or head down to Acme's first floor to enjoy brunch.

The Downtown Derby Bed Race is a competition where teams build and decorate their own “beds” to race up 5th Avenue South to Bridgestone Plaza all in support of cancer research. Teams that raise the most money can earn “head starts” on race day. The winning team will be presented with the Winners' Cup at a post-race ceremony at Bridgestone Plaza. “Best Decorated” and “Best in Spirit” will also be crowned. The "Shining Star" award will be presented to the individual who raises the most money through online fundraising. They will also receive an exceptional gift package.

Wish the Tennessee State Museum well as it prepares to move to its new building at Bicentennial Mall State Park. One of the museum’s most cherished and iconic artifacts is its 1860s Conestoga wagon, at the Museum’s current location. The Museum is inviting the public to help "Pack the Wagon" at this free event. Visitors will enjoy a "Wishes & Memories" Post-it wall, where guests will be invited to share their wishes for the new Museum and their memories of the old location. Attendees will have an opportunity to mail a postcard to themselves and be notified when the new Museum opens. In addition to crafts, refreshments, entertainment, discounts at the Museum Store and free give-aways, there will also be a "Selfie Station" in front of the Conestoga Wagon.

The Nashville Predators take on the Winnipeg Jets during Round 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Please note: single-game tickets are no longer available. Three hours prior to puck drop, the Plaza Party will feature the Smash Jet, inflatables, face painters, a Preds merchandise tent and a live DJ. Two and a half hours before puck drop, Fifth Third cardholders with valid game tickets may enter the arena through the Nissan SoBro doors to access Barrel House. All fans may enter Bridgestone Arena at all doors two hours before the match begins. Plus, be in your seat 15 minutes before the puck drops to catch a special pregame show and receive a gold rally towel.

Join fellow Smashvillians to cheer on the Nashville Predators at this outdoor viewing party. Join the fun during Round 2 of the 2018 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs. This party will be hosted on Lower Broadway between 4th & 5th Avenues. The events are free and open to the public. The party site will activate three hours prior to game time. Large video screens will show the game feed. DJs will be on hand to entertain fans. Food trucks and hot dog vendors will be on site, and water, sodas, beer and team merchandise will be on sale. Attendees are invited to bring blankets and chairs.
On Saturday, May 5, join City Tap Nashville for Derby de Mayo, a combined Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo celebration. Win prizes for most creative hat while enjoying $5 margarita and mint julep specials all day. Make sure to stick around until race time to experience the Derby on one of the area’s biggest screens, City Tap’s 15-foot LCD video wall.

Geist, the chic Germantown bar and restaurant that recently opened in a 118-year-old former blacksmith shop where locals once brought their horses to be shod, is celebrating the official opening of the Champagne Garden with a special Kentucky Derby Viewing event. This event, which will be held rain or shine, will feature screens throughout to view the Kentucky Derby races and attendees are encouraged to dress in their best Derby festive attire. Discounts on coupes of Moet and Domaine Chandon will be offered.

The Kentucky Derby honors the greatest two minutes in horse racing through a cultural celebration of exuberant fashion, Southern fare, and of course, Mint Juleps. If you can’t make it to Kentucky for the big race, celebrate locally at Whiskey Bent Saloon where the most classic spring cocktail, the Maker’s Mark Mint Julep, will be served in complimentary Maker’s Mark pewter cups (limited supply). They will also have games, a photo booth and plenty of Maker’s Mark swag to make everyone feel like race-day winners.
Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings every month. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. See this month's gallery map. Enjoy live music by Larysa Jaye on the performance platform near Rymer and Tinney on 5th Avenue North. Participate at the Plaza Art Community Art Station located on the platform near The Arts Company on 5th. Plaza Art will host a "paint-by-number" cityscape of Nashville. Art crawl attendees and passersby are invited to paint a portion of the canvas as they travel from gallery to gallery. Once the painting is complete, you can go see the finished work on display at Plaza Art, which is located at 633 Middleton St. Plus, be a part of the movement and post your pictures under these amazing walls: 144 5th Avenue North, 530 Church Street and 213 3rd Avenue North. Two Gray Line Art Crawl Downtown Trolleys will provide complimentary shuttle service along the route from 6 pm - 10 pm. You can purchase parking in advance here. The southbound lane on 5th Avenue North (Church Street to Union Street) will be closed beginning as early as 3 pm and ending as late as 10 pm on Saturday, May 5. Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is excited to announce the return of the ultimate foodie event, Generous Helpings. This annual party will feature Nashville’s finest restaurants showcasing tasting-sized portions of signature appetizers, entrees and desserts, while local beverage distributors will provide fine wines and craft beers. Presented by Kroger, Generous Helpings will take place on Thursday, May 10 beginning at 6 pm at City Winery.
