Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival

The 18th Annual Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival celebrates the vitality of the Jefferson Street community through its arts, music and food culture. This two-day event, brought to you by the Jefferson Street United Merchants Partnership (JUMP), will kick-off with a SoBro Block Party at 5th and Demonbreun Street on Friday, June 15 and concludes with a day-long music, arts and food festival featuring local and national jazz and blues artists and food and retail vendors from the North Nashville community on Saturday, June 16 in Bicentennial Mall. With thousands of attendees each year, the Jefferson Street Jazz & Blues Festival builds cultural awareness, attracts diversity and commemorates the historic Jefferson Street Corridor through the sounds of jazz, blues, funk, gospel, soul and R&B. 

 

Of Sound Mind and Dead Body

The Experts in Mystery Entertainment are now performing live public and private interactive murder mystery dinner shows in Nashville. Enjoy this night of intrigue, deception and delicious food in this comedic thriller!

 

Putt-Putt Pub Crawl for the American Cancer Society

SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 1 PM - 5 PM
LOCATION: PETE & TERRY'S TAVERN $15/PERSON; $50/GROUP OF 4

The American Cancer Society's Associate Board of Ambassadors is hosting the second annual Putt-Putt Pub Crawl in Nashville. Join for a mini round of putt-putt for a great cause at some of downtown's best bars. All proceeds will go directly to the American Cancer Society. The event will begin at Pete & Terry's Tavern, located at the back of the Bridgestone Arena on Demonbreun at 5th Avenue South, and will continue up Broadway to 2nd Avenue, with drink specials and live music along the way. Purchase tickets in advance or in-person on Saturday, June 16. And, be sure to show off your best golf attire!

 

Rosé Season Tasting Party

SATURDAY, JUNE 16, NOON - 3 PM
LOCATION: CITY WINERY $45

Raise a glass to summer, and think pink! Join City Winery’s wine team for the ultimate Rosé tasting experience. The event will take place in the upstairs lounge and will spill outdoors (weather permitting) to the two elevated patios with the most incredible views of downtown Nashville. Over 50 different still and sparkling Rosés will be served, including examples from all major western European producing regions, Rosé cider, and even Frozé will make an appearance. This event is general admission, and folks are encouraged to walk about the room and patios, visiting various Rosé stations for tasting. Alanna Royale will also be in the house spinning your favorite hits. Dine in the barrel room and restaurant for brunch beforehand and experience the famous“DIY” Mimosa trays.

 

Thunder on the Cumberland

SATURDAY, JUNE 16, NOON
LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK FREE

The river is about to get rowdy again. Thunder on the Cumberland presented by Toyota is part of the F1 Series Powerboat Championship circuit and features some of the fastest boats in the world. These boats race in a 3 mile loop on the Cumberland River between the Woodland Street & Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridges. Enjoy this free family event from the banks of the river at Riverfront Park –  a day of racing, food trucks, beverages and family fun in the heart of Downtown Nashville.

 

Yoga Buzz

SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 10 AM
LOCATION: ACME FEED & SEED $10

Summer weather has arrived and that means Sanctuary for Yoga and Acme Feed & Seed are ready to bring back the rooftop Yoga Buzz series. Experienced, casual, and newbie yogis are all invited to enjoy a yoga class on Acme’s sunny rooftop every first and third Saturday of the month at 10 am. After class, hang out on the rooftop to enjoy drink specials that enhance your post-yoga glow, or head down to Acme’s first floor to enjoy brunch.

 

Nissan Taste of Music City Festival

SATURDAY, JUNE 16, 6 PM - 10 PM

One of Nashville's largest Food and Drink Festivals is celebrating 16 years at Public Square Park on Saturday, June 16. The Nissan Taste of Music City Festival is an all-inclusive food tasting event with a one price admission. Attendees have the opportunity to take a "Tour of Nashville" and enjoy tastings from popular Nashville neighborhood's best local restaurants,along with some of Nashville's local beverage flavors. Attendees also have the opportunity to watch and learn from some of the Nashville's top chefs as they cook on-site and provide demonstrations for attendees to enjoy. Come out and enjoy the food and beverage samples this summer along with music from local artists and keep the fun going.

 

Says You! Live

SUNDAY, JUNE 17, 2 PM

Says You! Public Radio's comedy word-game show played at the expense of the English language. The host challenges two teams with some of the toughest questions you'll hear on radio. Come match wits with the cast as Says You! returns to Nashville for Father's Day. Adult-oriented family fun at a national broadcast event. Heard every Sunday morning on WPLN 90.3 FM.

 

Father's Day at 404 Kitchen

SUNDAY, JUNE 17, 5 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: THE 404 KITCHEN

Take dad for a walk on the wild side at 404 Kitchen with Chef Bolus’s handcrafted safari menu. Everything on the special menu will be prepared on the Big Green Egg! The safari menu includes fried alligator, elk leg, camel ribeye, kangaroo loin and more and will be served family style and must be enjoyed by the entire table. For those dads who prefer a staycation, the restaurant's nightly dinner menu will also be available. Father's Day with The Fab Four

This Father’s Day, City Winery will be giving dads the chance to experience the best Beatles tribute ever. Grab your tickets to see the Fab Four; a California-based, Emmy Award Winning tribute band, known for its uncanny, note-for-note live renditions of Beatles' classics, here.

Guests of the Sheraton Downtown Nashville love Executive Chef Kimo Akana's island-influenced cooking. This year, you won't want to miss his first-ever elaborate Father's Day Hawaiian Luau at SKYE, the lounge with scenic views of Nashville, located 28 floors above the city. He'll be roasting a whole pig for the event the rest of the menu includes Luau-inspired cocktails, craft beer, roasted meat carving stations, banana leaf steamed mahi mahi, ahi tuna poké, and decadent coconut and pineapple rum cake for dessert. Tennessee Jazz & Blues Society Great Album Series: “Song For My Father”

The next TJBS Great Albums Concert is set to take place Sunday, June 17 at 7 pm in The Lounge at City Winery. The Father’s Day edition of Great Albums highlights “Song For My Father" by Horace Silver. Leading this Great Albums is pianist Karlton Talyor. Doors open at 5 pm and the concert begins at 7 pm.

Industrious Downtown Select Preview Week

Street Eats

TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North every Tuesday and Thursday! The trucks serve lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. The food truck line-up is usually posted herePlease note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue) will be closed from 10 am - 2:30 pm on the day of the event.

LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

Take a break and get outside this summer for Adult Recess at Public Square! Grab a lunch from one of the Street Eats food trucks on Deaderick, bring your lunch to the park and join the fun. There will be ice cream, ping pong, foosball, giant lawn games like Jenga, chess, checkers, dominoes, and more. Good times for all!

 

Music City's International Day of Yoga

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 5:30 PM
LOCATION: CUMBERLAND PARK FREE

Join Small World Yoga for a free evening of yoga, live music, local shopping, food and more to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on Thursday, June 21. There will be an awesome line-up of local bands, Christopher Byford as the MC, the SWY Assist team and a full hour of free yoga. The event begins at 5:30 pm, and the one hour yoga practice begins at 6 pm with four SWY teachers, Janaye Williams, Annie Diomedes, David Swink and Sara Bradley! 

 

Make Music Nashville

Make Music Nashville is an all-day, open-access, free non-profit festival taking place in various neighborhoods in Nashville on June 21 every year. Participation is encouraged from all ages, genres and abilities, from indie rock to bluegrass to a cappella, from music students to professional artists and everything in between. Make Music Nashville’s primary goals are to provide an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels, interests and walks of life and to inspire the next generation of musicians through innovative outreach programming. The participating downtown location this year is the Country Music Hall of Fame and MuseumClick here to learn more.

 

Lunch & Learn: Southern Food Heritage

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, NOON TO 1 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

Join the Tennessee State Museum and the Nashville Farmers’ Market for a special summertime Lunch & Learn. Museum Curator Rob DeHart will give a presentation about Southern food heritage. His talk will be followed by a cooking demonstration from a local chef. Farmers’ Market, with its many restaurants, offers many choices for visitors to grab lunch and bring it to the presentation.
