Summer Solstice Yappy Hour

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 4 PM - 6 PM
LOCATION: UNION STATION FREE

Come celebrate the first day of summer during a Yappy Hour at Union Station Hotel on June 21 from 4 pm - 6 pm. Bring your pup along for an evening of happy hour specials, doggy merchandise from Crossroads Pets, music by Nashville-based quartet Ridin' The Rails and frozen treats for you and your pooch, including ice cream for the pups and frosé pops for you. $1 from every happy hour drink purchased during the event will benefit Crossroads Pets' adoption program. For a suggested $5 donation, don’t forget to commemorate the day with a photo of you and your furry friend.

 

Family Program: Beginner Ukulele Workshop for Make Music Day

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM
LOCATION: COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM

Perfect for beginners, this mini-lesson will introduce the ukulele, including strumming and simple chords. Musician and teacher Isabel Soehnlen will lead this introductory class. Soehnlen tours extensively through Appalachia and teaches at University School of Nashville and W.O. Smith Music School. Ukuleles provided or bring your own. Group lessons begin every thirty minutes. Presented in support of Make Music Day, a one-day, free celebration of music around the world.

 

Bluegrass Nights: Dailey & Vincent

The inaugural Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman series took place in 1994 at the then newly renovated Ryman Auditorium. Over the last 20-plus years, the series has become a Nashville summertime tradition. Join the Ryman for incredible performances by the biggest names in bluegrass and meet the newcomers who are carrying the genre’s rich musical traditions into the future. The annual summer series kicks off on Thursday, June 21 with Dailey & Vincent. All shows in the series start at 7:30 pm and are preceded by a free showcase, WSM's Pickin' on the Plaza, from 6 pm to 6:45 pm.

 

Hellbender on the River

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Join the Cumberland River Compact in their efforts to save the hellbender! Enjoy the best view of downtown Nashville while savoring a signature Hellbender Cocktail, local craft beer and Hattie B's Hot chicken. Music by Acme Radio. Trust us, this isn't your average watering hole! The location of this event will be on the East Bank Landing - beneath the Ghost Ballet sculpture. 

 

Lunch & Learn: Southern Food Heritage

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, NOON TO 1 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET FREE

Join the Tennessee State Museum and the Nashville Farmers’ Market for a special summertime Lunch & Learn. Museum Curator Rob DeHart will give a presentation about Southern food heritage. His talk will be followed by a cooking demonstration from a local chef. Farmers’ Market, with its many restaurants, offers many choices for visitors to grab lunch and bring it to the presentation. Music City's International Day of Yoga

THURSDAY, JUNE 21, 5:30 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: CUMBERLAND PARK FREE

Join Small World Yoga for a free evening of yoga, live music, local shopping, food and more to celebrate the International Day of Yoga on Thursday, June 21. There will be an awesome line-up of local bands, Christopher Byford as the MC, the SWY Assist team and a full hour of free yoga. The event begins at 5:30 pm, and the one hour yoga practice begins at 6 pm with four Small World Yoga teachers Janaye Williams, Annie Diomedes, David Swink and Sara Bradley. This event is family-friendly and suitable for all levels of yoga. They will be collecting gently used or new yoga mats to support Small World Yoga's local community outreach.

 

Make Music Nashville

THURSDAY, JUNE 21

Make Music Nashville is an all-day, open-access, free non-profit festival taking place in various neighborhoods in Nashville on June 21 every year. Participation is encouraged from all ages, genres and abilities, from indie rock to bluegrass to a cappella, from music students to professional artists and everything in between. Make Music Nashville’s primary goals are to provide an equal platform for musicians of all skill levels, interests and walks of life and to inspire the next generation of musicians through innovative outreach programming. The participating downtown location this year is the Country Music Hall of Fame and MuseumClick here to learn more.

 

Free Adult Education Fair

FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 11 A.M. - 4 P.M. 
LOCATION: AT&T BUILDING FREE

In a fast-paced world, adults need to be equipped with both agility and the education needed to meet the demands of today’s workplace. Adults interested in furthering their education are invited to attend the free 2018 Adult Education Fair, hosted by The Women of AT&T, Tennessee Chapter. The free education fair will be held on Friday, June 22 from 11 am – 4 pm at the AT&T headquarters auditorium. The prospective learner will have the opportunity to visit with member schools under the MTHEA (Middle Tennessee Higher Education Alliance) Group, along with more than 20 additional colleges and universities to discuss degree programs offered by their institutions.

 

Nashville Pride Festival

SATURDAY, JUNE 23 - SUNDAY, JUNE 24, SATURDAY: 10 AM - 9 PM; SUNDAY: NOON - 6 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE GENERAL ADMISSION: $5/DAY; VIP: $75 - $150; KIDS AGES 10 AND UNDER ARE FREE

Nashville PRIDE is the largest LGBTQ event in Tennessee. The event brings people together to enjoy an extensive vendor marketplace, Equality Walk, food vendors, entertainment, and much more. The purpose of Nashville PRIDE is to maintain a sense of community and awareness of, about, and for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender people, and culture throughout Middle Tennessee. There are four entertainment stages and performers include Wilson Phillips, JoJo, Chely Wright, Steve Grand, Taylor Bennett, Fletcher and many more. Plus, don't miss the Equality Walk on Saturday, June 23 at 10 am beginning at the corner of 2nd and Commerce. Please note: road closures associated with this event. Festival closures include Deaderick Street (3rd Avenue North to 4th Avenue North) and 3rd Avenue North (Union Street to Charlotte Avenue) from 9 am on Friday, June 22 until 11 pm on Saturday, June 24. Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival

Get out of the summer heat and head to Bridgestone for craft brews, food, games and entertainment at the Sixth Annual Nashville Predators Craft Beer Festival on June 23, 2018. Monster Jam

Picnic on the Patio

SUNDAY, JUNE 24, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: NASHVILLE FARMERS' MARKET $100 PER COUPLE

The first annual Picnic on the Patio is inspired by a couple who frequent the Nashville Farmers' Market. They come to the Market and get fresh vegetables and food from the farmers, restaurants and artisans to take to the Bicentennial Mall and have a picnic in park. This event encompasses this idea by providing a custom picnic basket for two along with dishes created by the restaurants and artisans at the Nashville Farmers' Market with ingredients sourced from NFM farmers and artisans. The event begins with a cocktail hour and passed appetizers. Guests are then provided their own picnic basket for two filled with dishes created by the unique restaurants at the Nashville Farmers' Market and a bottle of wine from the market's winery. Enjoy music and dine on the patio over looking Bicentennial Mall. Afterwards take your picnic basket with you so you can create your own picnic in the future.

 

River On The Rooftop

MONDAY, JUNE 25, 4 PM

iHeartMedia’s 107.5 The River, Nashville’s Number 1 Hit Music Station, announced today the all-star lineup for its annual River on the Rooftop concert series presented by FreelandAuto.com. The events will be hosted at a brand new venue, Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar at 311 Broadway. The free three-part concert series, with dates on June 11, June 25 and July 23, will feature performances from Bebe Rexha, Alessia Cara, Maren Morris, Bazzi, MAX, Madison Beer, Cash Cash, The Vamps, and Loote, with more performers to be announced at a later date. All shows are free and open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis until the rooftop patio is at capacity. Tai Chi

Cindy Lio will teach Yang style Tai Chi for anyone interested. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese self defense tradition that has evolved into a graceful form of exercise. It's great for stress reduction and beginners are welcome! Free.

 

Street Eats

TUESDAY, JUNE 26, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North every Tuesday and Thursday! The trucks serve lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. The food truck line-up is usually posted herePlease note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue) will be closed from 10 am - 2:30 pm on the day of the event. Plus, head over to Adult Recess in Public Square after grabbing lunch from a food truck - there will be plenty of tables and chairs set up at the corner of 3rd Avenue North and Union Street.

The Big Idea with Barry Scott

The Big Idea joins Woolworth's monthly live programming in the New Era Ballroom. At each iteration of the series, Barry Scott, acclaimed Nashville producer and actor, will guide the audience on a journey through time and imagination, visiting the past, present, and future through a multi-faceted stage performance. The audience is invited to participate in a post-performance discussion as Barry facilitates civil conversations about each production's historic theme.
