Marionettes, rod puppetry, shadow animation and an ever-changing set are used to tell country music history as it relates to Nashville’s transformation into Music City. Experience this exciting true story through nearly 100 puppets, ranging from the Staple Singers to Johnny Cash to Taylor Swift. "String City" was created by Wishing Chair Productions, the resident puppet theater company at Nashville Public Library, in collaboration with the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Three showtimes daily: 10 am - 11:15 am; 11:30 am - 12:45 pm, and 2 pm - 3:15 pm.

The Nashville Circus Spectacular is coming to Riverfront Park. This family-friendly event will feature Beyond Wings Circus' local high flying aerialists and acrobats, fire breathers, fire dancers, jugglers, stilt dancers and more! Local circus eats, vendors, and breweries will also be on-site serving the best eats and drinks in town. A percentage of all the proceeds will benefit the American Lung Association.

Paradise Park is going out with a BANG as they welcome everyone for Red, White & Brew on Saturday, July 7. From 3 pm - 6 pm, you'll enjoy burgers and beers on their signature indoor Astroturf. Cheap tickets, all-you-can-eat Paradise Park food, good music and a great way to say farewell to one of Nashville's most beloved honky tonks. 100% of ticket proceeds will benefit The Tomorrow Fund to help local nonprofits that serve children.

Enjoy live music by Sonja Hopkins and Meet the Seavers. Participate at the Plaza Art Community Art Station located on the platform near The Arts Company on 5th. Plaza Art will host a "paint-by-number" cityscape of Nashville. Art crawl attendees and passersby are invited to paint a portion of the canvas as they travel from gallery to gallery. Once the painting is complete, you can go see the finished work on display at Plaza Art, which is located at 633 Middleton St. Woolworth on 5th will host the official Art Crawl Afterparty. The basement level of Woolworth will host their concert series Art Crawl After Dark at Woolworth on 5th from 9 pm until midnight. Two Gray Line Art Crawl Downtown Trolleys will provide complimentary shuttle service along the route from 6 pm - 10 pm. You can purchase parking in advance here. Plus, be a part of the movement and post your pictures under these amazing walls: 144 5th Avenue North, 530 Church Street and 213 3rd Avenue North.
Please note: road closure associated with this event. The southbound lane on 5th Avenue North (Church Street to Union Street) will be closed beginning as early as 3 pm and ending as late as 10 pm on Saturday, July 7.

The Nashville Farmers' Market hosts free seasonal cooking demonstrations featuring community chefs, cooks and farmers on the first and third Saturday each month at 11 am. Attendees will meet the instructor(s) and participating farmers, learn how to utilize seasonal market ingredients to prepare delicious recipes throughout a 15 - 20 minute demo, sample and ask questions. Seating is limited and attendees are encouraged to arrive 5 - 10 minutes prior. Registration is not required.
The Nashville Shakespeare Festival invites you to read every play Shakespeare wrote, out loud in a reading circle! Saturday, July 7, marks the beginning of the 4th time through the complete works of William Shakespeare. Participants will read Shakespeare's "Henry VI, Part I", the first play in the canon. Readings at the Nashville Public Library are on the first Saturday afternoon of each month. Readings will always be free and open to the public. Hearing these plays read aloud will give you much more insight into the depth of Shakespeare’s works.

Waterfest is a free, one-day family festival all about celebrating and connecting children to our local waters.
Our goal is to raise awareness about the importance of water quality in our watershed through fun and engaging environmental-based activities suitable for the entire family. Exhibitors include Nashville Zoo, Adventure Science Center, Urban Green Lab, Walk Bike Nashville, Cumberland River Compact, Harpeth Conservancy, Tennessee Environmental Council, The Nature Conservancy, Tennessee Tech University, and more! Youth can be entered to win prizes for local businesses including LaserQuest, Nashville Zoo, Tito’s Playland, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Cheekwood, and a grand prize from Leadership Academy Camps. Join the Cumberland River Compact and Water for Life to learn about the importance of water quality in our watershed through fun environmental activities for the entire family.
TUESDAY, JULY 10, 11 AM - 2 PM
Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North every Tuesday and Thursday! The trucks serve lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. The food truck line-up is usually posted here. Walk one block over to Public Square Park and enjoy your lunch at one of the many tables and chairs provided at Adult Recess. While there play a game or two of giant Jenga, chess, checkers, Connect 4, foosball, ping pong and many more games! Please note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue) will be closed from 10 am - 2:30 pm on the day of the event.
TUESDAY, JULY 10, 11 AM - 2 PM

Take a break and get outside this summer for Adult Recess at Public Square! Grab a lunch from one of the Street Eats food trucks on Deaderick or any of downtown's fantastic restaurants, bring your lunch to the park and join the fun. There will be frozen treats for sale. Plus, enjoy a game or two of ping pong, foosball, giant lawn games like Jenga, chess, checkers, dominoes, and much more. Feel like a kid again on your lunch break!
THURSDAY, JULY 12, FUN STARTS AT 6 PM; MOVIE AT SUNDOWN
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE
Join us for Movie Night at Public Square during select Thursday nights this summer. The line-up is: The Last Jedi (July 12), Space Jam (July 19), A Christmas Story (July 26), and Remember the Titans (August 2). Feel free to bring: picnic blankets, folding chairs, dinner and/or snacks, and dogs on leashes. The fun starts at 6 pm with giant lawn games, frozen treats for sale and more. The movie will start at sundown each night.
THURSDAY, JULY 12, 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Join us at Nissan Stadium for the 4th annual Yoga On The Field. Hundreds of yogis will gather for a one hour, all-levels class led by Susannah Herring and Angie Kirk of Hot Yoga Plus. All levels are welcome. Doors and registration will open at 5:30 pm. Class will start at 6:30 pm. Come early to ensure you have plenty of time to get situated - plus we'll have lots of fun things to see and do before class. Cocktail hour will be from 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm. There will be a cash bar, food for sale, photo booth, and other fun activities and giveaways. Bring your own mat and towel. No outside food or drink is allowed in the stadium.
