Oak Steakhouse: now serving brunch
Oak Steakhouse is now open for brunch on Sundays from 10:30 am - 2 pm. The restaurant also serves dinner nightly and is located at The Westin Nashville at 801 Clark Place.

Cirque du Soleil

LOCATION: BRIDGESTONE ARENA $45 - $96

Written and directed by, Daniele Finzi Pasca, with Cirque du Soleil's mission of invoking the imagination, provoking the senses and evoking the emotions of people around the world, Corteo is like no other production. It first premiered in Montreal in April 2005. Corteo, which means cortege in Italian is a joyous procession, a festive parade imagined by a clown as he visualizes his own funeral taking place in a carnival-like setting, watched over quietly by caring angels. This mesmerizing production combines a theatrical world of excitement, comedy, and spontaneity situated in a mysterious space between heaven and earth making for a magical and musical experience.

 

Movie Night at Public Square

THURSDAY, JULY 26, FUN STARTS AT 6 PM; MOVIE AT SUNDOWN
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

Join us for Movie Night at Public Square during select Thursday nights this summer. The remaining line-up is: A Christmas Story (July 26) and Remember the Titans (August 2). Feel free to bring: picnic blankets, folding chairs, dinner and/or snacks, and dogs on leashes. The fun starts at 6 pm with giant lawn games, food trucks, frozen treats for sale for $1 and more. The movie will start at sundown each night. Parking is only $5 in the Metro Courthouse Garage. The food trucks for Thursday, July 26 are M.L.Rose and 313 Coney.  

 

Adult Recess

THURSDAY, JULY 26, 11 AM - 2 PM
LOCATION: PUBLIC SQUARE FREE

Take a break and get outside this summer for Adult Recess at Public Square! On Thursdays, bring your lunch from your favorite downtown restaurant or from one of the Street Eats food trucks on Deaderick. There will be plenty of tables and chairs located in the shade. Frozen treats and bottles of water will be for sale for $1. Join the fun! Enjoy a game or two of ping pong, foosball, giant lawn games like Jenga, Connect 4, chess, checkers, dominoes, and many more. Feel like a kid again on your lunch break!

 

Street Eats

THURSDAY, JULY 26, 11 AM - 2 PM

Enjoy a gathering of up to 20 local food trucks parked along Deaderick Street between 4th Avenue North and 5th Avenue North every Thursday! The trucks serve lunch from 11 am to 2 pm. The food truck line-up is usually posted here. Walk one block over to Public Square and enjoy your food at one of the many tables and chairs provided at Adult Recess. While there play a game or two of giant Jenga, chess, checkers, Connect 4, foosball, ping pong and many more games! Please note: road closure associated with this event. Deaderick Street (from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue) will be closed from 10 am - 2:30 pm on the day of the event.

 

Tour of M Street

THURSDAY, JULY 26, 6 PM - 10 PM
LOCATION: KAYNE PRIME $185

Take a tour of the senses and experience the true essence of M Street at their progressive seven-course "Tour of M Street" dinner. Each course is crafted by M Street chefs and will feature an elevated dish that he or she feels best represents each of their six concepts. The evening will cultivate into a seven course tour of M Street ending with a dessert course by their executive pastry chef, Nasera Munshi. Expanding on this M Street tour, sommelier Matt Ramos has curated wine pairings for each course.

 

Frist Friday: An Evening of Chaos and Awe

FRIDAY, JULY 27, 6 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: FRIST ART MUSEUM FRIST MEMBERS: FREE; NON-MEMBERS: $12; SENIORS: $9; MILITARY: $7

Inspired by the exhibitions Chaos and Awe: Painting for the 21st Century and The Presence of Your Absence Is Everywhere: Afruz Amighi, the evening will offer visitors opportunities to experience art in new and unexpected ways with live performances, interactive gallery activities, and food and drink specials. Paradise Park's Last Hurrah

FRIDAY, JULY 27, 7 PM - 11 PM; SATURDAY, JULY 28, 11 AM - 3 AM
LOCATION: PARADISE PARK TRAILER RESORT AND FOOD STAND

As you've probably heard, Paradise Park's last night of business is Saturday, July 28. The last hurrah is Friday and Saturday, July 27 - 28, featuring two fun events to say "goodbye" to Paradise Park. Full details for each day's events can be found here, but both days will feature an on-site photo booth and koozie giveaways. There will also be 50 framed pieces of astroturf for sale and all proceeds will benefit the Oasis Center.

 

Music City Brewer's Fest

SATURDAY, JULY 28, 5 PM - 9 PM
LOCATION: WALK OF FAME PARK GA: $49; VIP: $75; DESIGNATED DRIVER: $20

The 17th Annual Music City Brewer’s Fest is one of the biggest and best beer festivals in the country. You will have an opportunity to sample some of the most respected brews from over 40 local, regional, national, and imported breweries. This outdoor festival will be one you do not want to miss. There will be live music entertainment all day and a percentage of proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Nashville Humane Association. New this year, there will be only one session with new hours (5 pm - 9 pm), plus a 1-hour advanced VIP entrance from 4 pm - 5 pm. The Brewer’s Fest will most likely be another sell out with over 5,000 people in attendance. Tickets will be available at the gate day of only if advanced tickets have not sold out. Must be 21+ to attend.

 

Yoga Buzz

SATURDAY, JULY 28, 10 AM

Summer weather has arrived and that means Sanctuary for Yoga and Acme Feed & Seed are ready to bring back the rooftop Yoga Buzz series. Experienced, casual, and newbie yogis are all invited to enjoy a yoga class on Acme’s sunny rooftop every first and third Saturday of the month at 10 am. After class, hang out on the rooftop to enjoy drink specials that enhance your post-yoga glow, or head down to Acme’s first floor to enjoy brunch.

 

The Nashville Jazz Orchestra: From Pop to Art: 100 Years of Big Bands

The Nashville Jazz Orchestra preserves, advances, and promotes big band jazz appreciation to our children and our communities through live performances, workshops, and quality recordings. This event will feature special guests Annie Sellick & Charles "Wigg" Walker.

Kamayan Feast

Sunda presents a traditional Filipino Kamayan Feast featuring the full range of culinary flavors and textures from this culturally-rich country in Southeast Asia. A fun, educational experience from start to finish, Sunda's Kamayan Feast is interactive, photo-worthy and inspires an unmatched communal dining experience amongst guests. Guests will be able to feast on Lechon Kawali (Filipino pork belly), crispy soft shell crab, shrimp & chicken adobo skewers, whole crispy snapper, Longanisa (Filipino sweet sausage), crispy pork shank and more family-style using your hands.

 

Hot Summer & Cool White Wine Night

Tennessee summers are humid and hot. Cooling off with a glass of chilled white wine is a vino lover's dream on a hot July evening. Join City Winery for a casual walk-around tasting, featuring 20 wines focused on crisp bubbles and zippy whites. This event is general admission, and guests are encouraged to walk about the room and patios, visiting various stations at their leisure. Join in for a summer experience not to be missed. Included in this tasting are light cheeses. Other beverages available for an additional charge.

 

Zumba with Evelyn
