New restaurant: Green Pheasant!
215 1st Avenue South. 615-205-5400. This new dining option is located in the 222 building and specializes in Japanese cuisine. Their bar opens at 4 pm every day with dinner service beginning at 5 pm each night. They're open until 10 pm through the week and until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
 

New shopping option: Pet Wants!
1106 Division Street. 615-358-8430. Pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets to this new retailer in the Gulch. They specialize in proprietary pet food and also have treats, toys and other pet care items for sale. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday, 10 am - 8 pm; Saturday, 9 am - 7 pm; and Sunday, 9 am - 4 pm. 
 

New baked good option: Aunt Pam's Cookies!
22 Arcade. 615-474-7978. Aunt Pam's Cookies is located in the Arcade and specializes in using wholesome ingredients includes real butter, eggs with no hormones or antibiotics and more. They are open Monday - Saturday, 11 am - 6 pm.

Nashville Design Week

Nashville Design Week is a week-long, city-wide series of interdisciplinary programs and events to unite the design community, promote collaboration and idea sharing, engage the public, and elevate the impact of Nashville’s design economy. Design Week events will begin November 8 at 8:30 am. Participating downtown locations include 21C Museum Hotel Nashville, Frist Art Museum, Hatch Show Print, and the Nashville Civic Design Center.

Nashville Half Marathon, Marathon & 5K

Whether you’re a Nashville newbie or a lifelong local, you will love this route, which takes you through some of Nashville’s most beautiful and historic scenery. You will be proud and energized as you finish the last quarter mile on a triumphant downhill through the honky tonks of Broadway. Even if you’re not ready to run the 26.2 mile full marathon, this year, there is a relay option for you to enjoy with your team of friends! Participants will receive a commemorative race-technical shirt, uniquely designed finisher's medal, post-race refreshments, and after party entertainment and exhibitors area.

Free Admission to the Frist Art Museum

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12
LOCATION: FRIST ART MUSEUM FREE

Beginning Monday, November 5, the Frist Art Museum will offer free admission on Mondays to guests bringing nonperishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, through December 31. Since 2012, Frist visitors have donated more than 23,000 pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. Look for the collection barrels next to the Visitor Services desk. The items most needed by Second Harvest are peanut butter, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, and cereal.

Here's a few: 59% of the people who live downtown work outside of downtown and by the end of 2017 over 11,800 residents will be living in over 8,200 housing units.
