Craig Morgan will be signing his new CD, That's Why. It's his fifth album and includes the single "Love Remembers". He will perform a short acoustic set on the Museum Plaza, before the signing .

The March of Dimes Blue Jean Ball is a social networking event featuring a creative video fashion show. Plus, drinks, delicious food, and dancing. Guests are encouraged to dress up their favorite pair of jeans with diamonds, sparkles, and of course, fabulous shoes.
Michael Bess, Ph.D., Chancellor's Professor of History at Vanderbilt University, will explore the succession of revolutions that marked France's history in his lecture, "From the Bastille to the Commune: France's Long Nineteenth Century".

The parade honors all veterans, including those of our current wars. It will proceed down Broadway from 14th Avenue to 3rd Avenue. Watch the marching parade in support of our veterans. PLEASE NOTE: rolling road closures from the interstate to 3rd Avenue in conjunction with the parade, begin at 9 am on Thursday.

Introduced by Governor Phil Bredesen, the inaugural event of "Tennessee's Sesquicentennial Signature Event: The Coming of the Civil War" launches the series of symposia sponsored by the Tennessee Sesquicentennial Commission from 2010 to 2015. LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL $5 STUDENTS, $10 GENERAL
Score_Underscore! explores how music sets the tone and feel of a movie and how composers approach the scoring of films. Three Nashville-based composers, Scott Brasher, Brooke Waggoner and Mark Beall, will each have one short film “project” and will all write music for a fourth film. While the audience views the films, the scores will be performed live by some of Nashville’s finest musicians. For tickets in advance, click here or visit the Cathedral. Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park will unveil its brand new Civil War exhibit: Tennessee - Struggle for the Heartland 1861-1865 on Friday at the park’s Visitor Center with a reception from 10 am to 3 pm. The Doubletree Hotel will provide coffee, sodas and finger foods. As part of the 150th Anniversary of the American Civil War, Bicentennial Mall will host a living history event in the park on Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm each day. This event will feature encampments, interpreters, flag presentations, music, battle reenactments and firearms demonstrations. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 12 - SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13
LOCATION: TENNESSEE STATE MUSEUM FREE
In collaboration with the Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Commission, the Tennessee State Museum will present two days of special events during the state's official kick-off of the 150th Commemoration of the Civil War. All exhibits and events are free to the public. The museum, which houses one of the largest and best Civil War collections in the nation, will host special tours on Friday, November 12. The famous (and rarely seen) large silk "Sons of Erin" flag, from Col. Randal McGavock's Company "F" of the 10th Tennessee Confederate Infantry Regiment, will be featured in a special three-day display. Bring a brown bag lunch and enjoy a mid-day presentation about the fascinating background behind the museum's collection of rare artifacts. On Saturday, November 13, a family activity area will feature educational programs and activities focusing on Civil War history for school age children. LOCATION: RIVERFRONT PARK $60 - $70 FOR RUNNERS; FREE FOR SPECTATORS
The second annual Nashville 1/2 Marathon race route includes Riverfront Park, Bicentennial Mall and other areas of town. All runners receive race t-shirts, medals and beer at the finish line. Cash money to top finishers and prize drawings for all runners. PLEASE NOTE: road closures will be associated with this event.
SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 6 PM - 1 AM
LOCATION: WAR MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM $85
The theme of Artrageous 23 is Gems & Jewels. 10% of sales at participating art galleries will be donated to Nashville CARES. The gallery tour from 6 pm - 10 pm includes Tennessee Art League, Estel Gallery, The Arts Company, and The Rymer Gallery. The tour is followed by the Late Party from 10 pm - 1 am at War Memorial Auditorium and on the plaza. There will be live entertainment, plus a live auction featuring a seven-day vacation to the Mexican Riviera.

The Predators return home on Saturday night to take on the defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. It is always a fast-paced, hard-hitting game when the Blackhawks come to town and one not to be missed! It is also a Second Harvest Food Drive night. Former U.S. poet laureate and winner of the Nashville Public Library Literary Award, Billy Collins, will give a public lecture after remarks by Mayor Karl Dean and library director Donna Nicely. Winners of the Teen Poetry Contest, selected by Collins, will be recognized and a book signing will follow the lecture. Free 90-minute parking for up to 200 people will be available at the Library Garage and Christ Church Cathedral will provide free parking from 9 am - noon in Lot C at 900 Broadway.
The 12th Annual Grand Day is a day to enjoy Seussical festivities with grandparents, grandchildren, parents and friends, even if you are not planning to see Seussical the day of the event. Grand Day consists of the Patron Tea Party at 12:30 pm, Seussical at 2 pm, and the carnival at 3:15 pm.
