News & Information

Road Closures: In conjunction with the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl activities, the following roads will close December 29th and 30th: 1st Avenue from Church to Demonbreun; 2nd Avenue from Commerce Street to Demonbreun; Broadway (all lanes) from 1st Avenue to 3rd Avenue on December 29th, and 1st to 4th Avenue on December 30th.


NOTE: The Music City Center plans to close Demonbreun Street between 6th and 8th Avenues for a few weeks beginning Monday, December 27th. Please visit their website starting tomorrow, Thursday, December 23rd, for complete details.

Christmas Celebration Services

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 24, 12:15 PM, 4 PM, AND 11 PM; SATURDAY, DECEMBER 25, 10:30 AM
LOCATION: CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL

Christmas Eve service featuring Holy Eucharist and music from the choir at 12:15 pm, and Holy Eucharist at 4 pm and 11 pm. Christmas Day service (one service only) with Holy Eucharist at 10:30 am.


Christmas Worship Services

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 24, 6 PM; SATURDAY, DECEMBER 25, 11 AM
LOCATION: DOWNTOWN PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service at 6 pm on Friday featuring hymns and readings from the scriptures. Communion, and a relaxed and joyful Christmas Day worship service in the chapel on Saturday at 11 am. The nursery will be open.


Christmas Worship Services

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 24, 5:30 PM, AND 10:30 PM; SATURDAY, DECEMBER 25, 11 AM
LOCATION: FIRST LUTHERAN CHURCH ELCA

Holy Communion and a Christmas Eve candlelight service on Friday. The family service with children's sermon begins at 5:30 pm. Music with the choir for the later service begins at 10 pm, and the service starts at 10:30 pm. Christmas Day service with Holy Communion and carols in the Nave begins at 11 am.


Christmas Eve Communion

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 24, 5 PM, 8 PM
LOCATION: FIRST BAPTIST NASHVILLE

Two Christmas Eve services. The service at 5 pm features carols, candles and communion. Music will be provided by the Sanctuary Singers, soloists, keyboardists, and congregation. The service at 8 pm features music by Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning Contemporary Christian Artist Margaret Becker. Jazz Saxophonist Jamie Reed will also provide pre-service music.


Christmas Brunch

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 25, 11 AM - 4 PM
LOCATION: CAPITOL GRILLE AT THE HERMITAGE HOTEL $26.50 CHILDREN; $46.50 ADULTS

Menu by Chef Tyler Brown includes local country hams, roasted sweet potatoes and red onion crumble,sweet and sour green beans, roasted beef steamship round, a Hermitage Hotel Grand Dessert Display, and much more! Call 615-345-7116 for reservations.


MusicFest and Battle of the Bands

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 29, 5 PM - 7 PM

Little Texas will kick off the music for the night with a concert at 5 pm, at 1st Avenue and Broadway. Following their performance, the North Carolina and Tennessee marching bands will parade down 1st and 2nd Avenues, respectively. They will turn onto Broadway and stop in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, and battle until about 6:30 pm. Afterwards, fans are free to take in MusicFest throughout the clubs, restaurants, and stores.


Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 30, 5:30 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD $17 - $80

Now in its 13th year, the 2010 Bowl matches teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). This year's game is between the University of North Carolina and the University of Tennessee, the teams' first meeting since 1961.


Fan Zone Party

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM
LOCATION: LP FIELD FREE

Football fans from the SEC and ACC are invited to play just steps away from the LP Field South End Zone Area in Lot R. Interactive games will be provided for the entire family. It’s a great start to gameday and a fun way to be a part of all of the pageantry of the Bowl.
