Located in the shadow of the Capitol in downtown Nashville, Bicentennial Capitol Mall gives visitors a taste of Tennessee’s history, natural wonders and serves as a lasting monument to Tennessee’s Bicentennial Celebration, which was June 1, 1996. To honor that history, every Wednesday, park tours are offered to explore the natural, cultural and historical resources of the area and the state. The tours are free and conducted at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. CT. The tours lasts approximately one hour. No sign-up necessary, except for groups of 25 people or more. Meet-up under the train trestle outside the visitor center. The tours are offered April through November. Self-guided tours of the park are also very popular. Informational maps are available at the park office or patrons may print the map from our website. The route is approximately 0.9 miles. Bicentennial Capital Mall State Park provides great spaces for events of all sizes with a spectacular view of the State Capitol and Capitol Hill. The amphitheater is built in the tradition of Greek architecture and can comfortably seat over 2,200 people. This venue has hosted everything from small, intimate weddings to the Nashville Symphony.
